  1. How did you manage your cabling? The terminals on the Yuasa are the other way round compared to the Banner. I don't think my cable will reach the Negative terminal without re-routing. Plenty of slack in my cables to take the Yuasa battery.....no mods required other tha the batt clamp Edited by - Whoosh on 10 Apr 2012 22:58:56
  2. I went with a Yuasa Pro896 last year. Fits beautifully in the original tray, however the security strap did need modifying due to different design in the top cells. So far no complaints. Nice battery, nice price !
  3. i would start by looking at your ignition leads. Make sure you have a good spark at the plugs. Might be one of the leads is breaking down once it gets a little warm. When did you last change the leads ?
  4. Ratrace are in the final stages of a Sigma engine build. May well be of interest to you
  5. Try some rubber lube on the front half bush, might just give you those extra few mm What on earth is that when it's at home? Hellerine oil is worth a go if your struggling with rubber bushing

  12. Well like Revin Kevin said i think it's easier to remove the Axle and diff assembly as one as well. Me, although i work out of a single garage as well i do have the advantage of an access door at the rear so unit can exit with ease here. That said i still felt prior to removing my axle / diff assy a few winters ago i might still like to move the car around the garage with the help of a trolly and a lateral brace system i knocked up. 1/ Trolly.......Good thick bit of ply + heavy duty castor wheels completes. 2/ Lateral brace......again thick piece of wood running from left to right, locating at the jacking points forward of the rear wheels. Glued some strips of wood on lateral brace so to avoid the longitudinal stringers (4off) Small jacks, 1 on the right and 1 on the left lifts the car with ease should i need to. Lower car onto trolly with brace in postion allows car to be moved left to right or fore and aft in totally safety. Because this trolly is purely used for moving the car around dueing maintenance i still use axle stands for safety once car is in the desired postion. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x31/Gordon1962/2006_0401Axleandbrakes0014.jpg

  21. Yes i have gone for a hard wire and inline fuse as well. Managed to get the socket out of the way by using the wiper motor assembly as a means of installing socket. Never know its there unless you looked Photo 1 Photo 2 _________________________ Gordon.......joint Surrey AR
  22. Yes just put the multimeter probes across the terminals. Red on Red, Blk on Blk. Turn off your accessories ie lights Multimeter set to DC scale Fast idle....chk output voltage. Any where between 13.5v ~ 14.4v is good If the voltage reading is less than 12v then you have a failure. _________________________ Gordon.......joint Surrey AR
  23. Should have added....... well worth carrying a strong waterproof tape in the boot as well. You just never know when you'll need to patch a wing etc together again. _________________________ Gordon.......joint Surrey AR
  24. Yes i couldn't agree more with this one. Opened my eyes up when i installed an oil temp gauge in my Subaru some years ago. In the cooler months it must have taken a good 15 minutes or so before the oil was fully upto operating temperature. Never mind about that. Just remove the bloody key from your pocket before you harness up 🙆🏻 _________________________ Gordon.......joint Surrey AR
