I have a 91 de Dion supersprint with the original roll bar. I want to order a soft bits hood but if I take a straight line from the windscreen to the top of the bar the hood will be resting on my head! I have read that you can get higher bars, possibly FIA. What should I be looking for and where would I get one. Baz

I have a 1991 supersprint which has an oil cooler fitted. I only use the car for road use and with modern oils much improved I was wondering how essential it was to keep it. It seems a bit of an overkill to have one on.

I am after the valve clearances for a 92 supersprint as I have several different settings and would like to get them correct before the season begins.

If money is no object buy a plug socket from Snap-on. They grab hold of the plug without the use of a rubber insert (the rubber loses its grip after a while) and release the plug with a wriggle. You would then need an extension bar and t-bar. With out checking I think they are 14mm. Have fun.

ECR I needed a set of caps for my superlites but did not get anywhere with the English company. Eventually found a company in France who were very helpful and came up with the goods. If you need the details let me know.

Over the winter I am planning to fit new shock absorbers to my 1992 supersprint as the rears are leaking and the fronts are corroded. I have seen for sale Spax, Gaz and Avo. Does any one have any experience/recommendations. The car is only used on the road. Any info appreciated.

I am currently giving my 1700 ss cylinder head a decoke. It is fitted with double valve springs. The problem I have is that the new stem seals (supplied by Redline) do not grip the valve guides. I have read that one engine builder glues them on! Could I get away without fitting them (slight increase in oil consumption) or is there another way?

Over winter I will be replacing the clutch in my 1992 1700ss with 5sp gearbox. Is this a mk11 escort clutch or something else?
