  1. LR Defender's have reverse at the bottom right. Probably a bit big'n'heavy though. ☹️
  2. They're a bit like the full hood. Anyone who says they're rubbish just can't be 🙆🏻'd figuring out how to fit them correctly.
  3. Quoting CaterBram: Are they significantly better than the standard ones. ? Don't seem to have any issue with degregation due to diff oil as i cured the leaks when I rebuilt the diff. They're meant to last longer as they don't deteriorate when soaked in oil/fuel/Crossflow juice. Those other examples of oil-tight motoring, Land Rovers, are also popular targets for poly bushes. Beware though. They have far less give than traditional rubber bushes and might, (Pedants please note: might, not will) transfer more of the shocks and movement they're intended to absorb. 4. Already moved on to a Triumph Tiger 1050 so the all-Britishness of the Cannonball fleet is restored once again Edited by - Cannonball Bob on 20 Mar 2013 17:28:06
  5. What's your budget? I have a BMW F650GS looking for a new home. Peanuts to run, forgiving ride, tough as jack boots (being German an' all that). I commuted in to London on it for a year and never had any issues.
  6. Have you per chance got a minder called Terry who drives a white Capri?
  7. Have a Google around. There are companies out there who do the complete chassis swap for a couple of thousand quid.
  8. Quoting Rampmonkey: got one of the lads down the structures bay gonna do a weld fix for me and then come up with a design for a second skin plate to put over the base of the tank. Hmmm, I'd be careful.....effectively double-skinning the tank could make finding any future leaks a bit tricky!
  9. Quoting Dave Jackson: it would appear that the ethanol content of fuel today compromises all known previous tank repairs other than welding. The stuff I suggested is aviation grade sealant.
  10. Can you get some PRC from work and patch over it?
  11. *arrowup*Bloody bargain. And the same spec as mine which given its notoriety on BC must add some value? For the luddites out there, the X-Tech special edition is an XS (posh station wagon)without the rear seats or windows, so you get sunroof, ABS and traction control which makes it absolutely unstoppable, especially in snow
