  1. Hello, I'm looking to borrow a CSR front wing for 3 weeks please, happy to return it afterwards. Even a broken one will be fine as I'm just using it as part of the bulk buy. Edited by - Fishy Dave on 18 Oct 2012 10:37:55
  2. I have spoken to Steve at YC Plastics yesterday and we have enough interest for him to look into producing a mould. I have agreed to pay him a visit in a couple of weeks with my Seven to measure up. In the mean time if anyone has a CSR wing I can have, even a broken one is fine, as I would like to keep the proportions as close to orginal as possible.
  3. Interest here if the sale falls through.
  4. Hello, I'm looking for a driver of a 1400 or 1600 Caterham to enter with me as a team (they drive their car, I drive mine) in the Magnificent Sevens, class A for 2013. After a number of seasons dabbling with racing on and off, I'm determined to complete a full season in 2013, entering in class A in the Magnificent Sevens (upto 1700cc and 140BHP). The series runs 40 minute races with a pit stop, unusually allowing two drivers and two cars to share an entry and work as a team. This splits the cost of entry in half, and still gives 15 minutes each for qualifying and 20 minutes each per race. If I don't find anyone I will still have a go at entering all rounds by myself, it would just be nice to share costs and be part of a team. I can't wait to race at Spa..... <img class='"smiley"' alt='"cool' src='"images/smilies/cool.gif"' smiley"="" data-cke-saved-src=""> Anyone interested? Cheers, Dave
  5. Still gaining in interest, please add your names. I will be discussing in more detail with the plastics company once my wedding has taken place in a couple of weeks.
  6. Phil, do you mean the thread convertor which is about an inch or so in length iirc?
  7. Hi David, You wouldn't go wrong with any of those suggestions, but the cheapest options are 1.Attend a Motorsport Events trackday at Hullavington where you have an airfield circuit and a handling area (one car at a time) with slalom and donut areas. 2. Next year volunteer to be a driver at the Supercar Event and get to spend two days hooning around, taking passengers around for charity with the only cost being your fuel and tyres. THE best value, fun, rewarding and informative days you can do IMO.
  8. If that's £15 inc postage I'll have it please on behalf of a non posting member.
  9. Thanks for the interest on here, keep it coming, I have had a couple of people off line e-mail me too.
  10. I would like the design to be very close to that of the genuine CSR wing. They will have to be slightly different to be able to fit the standard wing stays. Thought this might have had more interest?
  11. Can be fitted to the back of the pads to help reduce heat transfer from the pad to the caliper/brake fluid and also to reduce squeel.
  12. Polling for interest at this stage, please put your names down on this thread. I have spoken briefly to Steve at YCPlasticsabout producing CSR style wings in ABS plastic to suit 13" wheel S3/SV wingstays. YC plastics currently produce standard cycle wings directly to Caterham, and can't sell these to the public. I have a pair of their half doors from the group buy organised in the summer and have been very impressed with their quality and fit for the money. Steve is a racer and so has a good knowledge and interest in our cars. Why would you want to change your standard wings to the CSR style? Well, they fit closer to the tyre and have a more aerodynamic profile, reducing front end lift and drag. Produced in plastic they are cheaper to replace than carbon fibre. Interesting article here on aerodynamics- Myothercarsa2cv I would need to look in to what to do for those with side repeaters, and just how close they would fit to the tyre (would they accomodate a 65 or 70 profile for example). Probable cost range for a pair in black gloss ABS is likely to be less than £60+ postage to include an NTL donation, with the carbon effect being £70-£75+ postage. Cheers, Dave
  13. Yes, I have heard of a few problems on here, but in my experience it's still a better shift action.
  14. Worth finding one with the metal spherical bearing, a much better shift action than the one you are using with the rubber block. I swapped mine a couple of years back.
  15. Welcome, another ex 330D owner here
  16. I find this problem the only thing I dislike about the Emerald. I have no power in the carport to run a charger and if the voltage in the battery drops just a little I don't get the green light when starting, so the engine just turns over. Anyway we can get the Emerald to work at a lower rotation speed?
  17. Amazed this hasn't been snapped up. The only reason I can think of is that potential new owners may consider a 1.4 to be underpowered somehow which just isn't the case. I would say your car appears a bargain, especially as it is so easy to swap the bottom ends for a 1.6 or 1.8 if they feel they need the extra cc capacity. Good luck with the sale.
  18. We were running late so probably had my toe down a bit, sorry I didn't see you.
  19. Hi Peter, Good to have met you yesterday. I'd never seen that amount of gap in the hub/bearing before, pleased that others have said it's all ok. Cheers, Dave
  20. Quoting L7 FST: Fishy Dave - sorry we didn't meet up 😶‍🌫️(you borrowed my yard to park your trailer a month or two ago) Stephen Sorry, I should have wondered over to find you.
  21. I bought it, and can confirm that it weighs just under 3.2kg.
