  1. I would trim carbon with some emery cloth on a small wooden block, whilst wearing a mask, collect the dust on a damp rag.
  2. Between Asda in Radcliffe and Whitefield, today about 3.30.
  3. Many many moons ago I had similar problems with our classic mini. Changed all the ignition due to what I thought was a weak spark. Turned out the needle in the carb was loose, piston moved up, needle stayed put. Good luck
  4. Blanked mine, small piece of ally cut to shape and stuck on with Araldite.
  5. Wire brush/emery cloth, de-grease then Silver Hammerite. Re-paint every year or so
  6. That LADS member is me. First time no pressure at all, second time Max pressure all the time. The sender is a Danfoss unit, so should be good quality component. Third sender is working fine but I have a mechanical gauge ready on the shelf if it fails. Just wondering if these problems in this thread are all on factory built cars? Who would you rather build your car, someone who has lusted after one for years and lavishes time and loving care on the build, or a chap who has 50 hours to get it done and will never see it again?
  7. Mine's here. Super quality. Many thanks
  8. I'll take it BM on the way
  9. Stuck mine with double sided tape to get it central. Once happy, filleted with Sikaflex type goo. Black tape covers the very thin cable down to the boot. Very neat job if I do say so myself. Have a look at LADS on Wednesday.
  10. Nigel, turn in into a slot racing circuit, like me, you need the practice 😬
  11. I used Araldite to fix the big heads quite generously so it oozed out the holes, left it 24 hours then used cable ties to fix to the stays. 6,000 miles without any problem. Plus easy to remove wing for ease of access when servicing the brakes. New cable ties every year is a cheap item.
  12. Ad reads "Remember, Heat Rises" I thought warm air rises.

    Sigma plugs

Thanks, missed that thread. At that price changing every 2 years is cheap as chips.

    Sigma plugs

Just running through the service schedule for my 150 Sigma. Two years old just 6,400 miles. Caterham's book says change spark plugs every 2 years. I thought modern plugs lasted much longer than that. Has anyone changed Sigma plugs after 2 years? If so are they standard 1.6 Focus ones?
  15. Cheque in the post....................honest 😬
  16. How old and how many miles has yours done? On Caterham's website they claim a long life belt. No idea what long life means though.
  17. This was the quote. Update - Still a small puddle of coolant on the garage floor, radiator still dry but a weep from the tee piece under the inlet manifold. I had replaced the plastic tee with a copper one but I felt at the time it was not a tight enough fit in the silicone hose. Whilst Googling for a brass barbed Tee I came across Tefen who make the original plastic Tee. This grade of plastic Tee is only rated to 90 deg C. As the fan kicks in at around 100 it is no wonder they deform. Anyway, I bought a brass item from here I bought one 5/8 and one 5/16 All Tees are now in brass. Off to test area
  18. Did mine in May Why did that quote not work? Edited by - Domus on 6 Nov 2012 22:43:00

    Sigma squeal

Hi John, I would be interested to see how much "wobble" your spare has. Had another play this evening, tried a few centre pop marks and a drop of Loc-tite. Time will tell.
