  1. Cut the cable ties holding the immobiliser aerial to the barrel so it loops down, Then touch the fob to the aerial.
  2. I used THIS on ALL connections when I built my car. To date I have had no electrical gremlins at all.
  3. Mine failed after about 6 months, I was on my way to a GTKY7 day at Caterham Midlands when the thing just stopped. I turned up on the back of a recovery truck. Nick Potter eventually got mine going by pinching a MAP sensor from a new car in stock. I was tempted to advise Jim but when mine failed it would not even catch never mind run for a few seconds so I assumed it was a different fault. Well done John, a handy piece of kit to have.
  4. And who's Peter? toothy smiley Me 😬

As above with as new Avon ZV-3. Only used as a spare. £50.00. Collect from Sunny Radcliffe, LADS, MADS or can deliver to London to Brighton No Sossiges event 😬
  10. Quoting mav: flat bottom side cutters Cheers Mav, mine turned up today. They look a quality item and work well
  11. Chris and I in the Boxster. Her hip not yet up to hopping in and out of the Seven. The adventure began at the Let's Eat Café on the A49.
  12. The 4 Dzus fasteners should be on the nosecone already. I spent a very dusty half hour or so with some emery cloth on the various cut outs for ARB and lower wishbone, in order to get the fit just right. LADS top tip, bond or solder a washer into the slots of the bottom Dzus fasteners. Instant wing nuts, saves scrabbling around on your knees with a stubby screwdriver. LADS other top tip, secure another washer, with a twisty tie, to a brake pipe from the master cylinder. You can now remove the nosecone without any tools at all.
  13. as above plus, exhaust bobbin, cable ties, gaffer tape
  14. Paul in the ESV will have the water boiler on when ever the refreshment stand is closed.
  15. Top tip - strip the switch in a plastic bag
  16. Strip and clean the old one and keep as a spare. You never know, you may be able to help out a fellow member on a Blat sometime

  18. Guessing at key fob dongle thingy (technical term) not connecting with aerial. Mine did this when I used a new neoprene lanyard as a keyring. Very strange. My aerial hangs in a loop behind the ignition barrel, key in, turn, touch dongle to aerial and away we go. The neoprene strap was getting in-between and preventing activation.

  20. The ariel for the immobiliser is a wire, cable tied to the ignition barrel. Cut a tie or two and loop the wire down. Touch the fob to the wire after turning key. Good luck.
  21. Jack up, hold wheel at 12 and 6 o-clock. Any rocking shows wheel bearing needs attention. Then again could be a stone trapped between disc and caliper.
  22. You need a long pedal travel, ask me how I know. Spent a few frustrating hours on my build trying to bleed the Sigma clutch. Second pair of eyes suggested adjusting the pedal stop.
  23. When I did my build all the electrical connections got a dose of This Seems to do the trick, three years in and no electrical gremlins as yet.
