  1. Strada fitted in mine, £20 ish on ebay.
  2. If I remember, long nose pliers. Not an easy job.
  3. I concur, I bled the clutch but I did not have enough pedal travel. Adjust the pedal stop and all will be well.
  4. There is a video on YouTube, saw it when helping on Paul's car. Found it Edited by - Domus on 22 Oct 2011 17:34:11
  5. Cut a short piece off an allen key (twice the socket depth) Stick it in with some grease, then use a spanner. Good luck
  6. Make sure there are no scratches in the bore, oil will track and weep. I always smear a little Hylomar on the outside of the seal. Mind you, air compressor seals have to deal with higher pressures than gearboxes but I still advocate it.
  7. Guilty as charged Been for a short blat / pre Picos shakedown. New tyres scrubbed in (can you scrub them in on wet leaves?) new bike speedo checked for accuracy 😬

    Gearbox oil leak?

Snap, 2000 miles with a constant drip on the garage floor. Seems to be bedding in now as the puddle each time seems smaller. Topped up the level the other week only took about an eggcup full. TADTS ☹️

    Noisy Gearbox

"They all do that, sir." Usually said in a condecending manner with a smirk thrown in for free.
  10. Just had a call from Caterham refunding my purchases. Very good service
  11. Thinking logically over the weekend I came to the conclusion that I had a live wire touching the Carbon dash when the gauge was pulled through.
  12. New unit fitted, original gauge re-fitted. All back to normal
  13. New sender unit arrived today, will fit tomorrow. It is a Danfoss unit - MBS1350. A quick Google shows that it is a "Robust and reliable unit" It also shows it operates as a sender AND a switch. So why don't Caterham put in a low pressure light when the switch is already fitted?
  14. I'm expecting this to be covered by warranty. Car only been on the road since November.
  15. New gauge fitted, no difference. Removed the sender unit- what a faff . It is a Danfoss unit, we used Danfoss stuff on air compresssors back in the day when I worked, and they always seemed reliable. The one now showing on the Caterham website is a Caerbont unit. I will let you know what happens. Should make it to Woodvale
  16. It was reading nil, switched off, pulled the gauge through the dash to check the plug connection was OK, switched on, little flicker then smoke from the gauge. Switched off (very quickly) removed gauge. Engine started - no smoke from wires.
  17. Standard OPG reading nil, new gauge ready for fitting. How do I test the wiring? Do I have my meter on Volts or resistance? What readings should I get with ignition on and engine running? Much better with nuts and bolts, electrickery is a bit like Black Magic to me. Sigma 150
  18. Have a look on YouTube, The "King of Miatas"
  19. MG Rover part number is - SBB10173 If you find one cheapish, give me a shout Ta
  20. Dave Clark is a mate of mine and is handling the sale. here Edited by - Domus on 9 Jul 2011 11:09:12
  21. Thats what you get with "The Devil's Brew" Save it for tractors.
  22. Mine ran "like a bag of spanners" I ran it up to temp to bring in the fan then left it to the post build check. Pops and bangs a bit at low revs but runs very well when "making progress" 😬
  23. Tap them home, then use a centre punch on the joint at several places to hold them in.

    BMW diff?

Spooky, whilst reading this thread an email from Caterham has arrived informing me that parts are now available, am I fitting myself or opting for factory fit? Decisions decisions
  25. I had to put 15 litres in mine.
