  1. Thanks. I went for something similar from Amazon
  2. Good suggestion, however, most of the good ones seem to be for Android. Any suggestions for iPhone or Mac?
  3. Purchased an assortment of grabbers, magnets on sticks etc but the fishing trip was unproductive. Took plugs out & turned engine over with car in gear by pushing it but still could not find anything so with trepidation I fitted the new sensor & started the car. Everything was fine with no sound of tortured bolt against fly wheel. Since I was now 4 hours late leaving for Norfolk I decided to risk it & the car ran perfectly the whole journey. One last fish through the clutch arm aperture the next day before starting the Hethel track day still failed to produce the missing bolt. Track day & 200 mile journey home completed with no incident so I can only assume that either the bolt didn't fall in the gearbox bell housing, it's lodged somewhere inaccessible inside, or it's got stuck externally on the engine.
  4. Just changing the flywheel sensor on a K series in preparation for Hethel track day tomorrow & fumbled & dropped the bolt! I can't see it through the window in the gearbox bell housing but I can't find it either. Loathed to start the engine in case the bolt damages the flywheel etc but don't have time or equipment to take the engine & gearbox out before tomorrow either. Has any one in the Cheltenham area got a long flexible magnetic probe? Any other suggestions?
  5. Passed the yellow seven I sometimes see on the back road between Bishops Cleeve & Gotherington again today. PM me if you want to get in touch
  6. Dedicated for larger display. I have used USB charger in power socket but TomTom charger was not a good fit to the charger socket & kept cutting out. I guess I could wire in a dedicated USB socket though. I looked at previous discussions but models change frequently so some of this information is out of date now.
  7. Any 7 friendly recommendations for a combined sat nav with dash cam & speed camera alerts? Aguri Car GT720 looks interesting so has anyone experience of this unit? Having had two TomToms the experience was poor with atrocious battery life & poor reliability. The last one only lasted 13 months! Not impressed with Garmin software either.
  8. Finally solved the problem Thanks for all the advice. After bump starting the car it started fine but wouldn't turn over on the starter so I stripped down the MFU & all the relay contacts were pristine so deduced it had to be a doggy starter. Replaced with a new Brise one which is adjustable so you can position the solenoid well away from the exhaust primaries & it started first time! When I tested the old starter off the car the solenoid did not reliably fire the pinion forward & the starter motor would not spin so I suspect it's succumbed to water ingress.
  9. That would make sense if the battery wasn't charging but I don't think it would affect starting. I've fitted a new battery.
  10. Yes, I've had all the fuses out & they are OK
  11. Since I last washed the car 6 weeks ago & put it away in the garage I've not been able to get the engine to turn over let alone start. As I'd left it a couple of weeks I thought the battery was flat so charged it up but still nothing more than a click from the solenoid. Given the battery is about 3 years old I though it had probably come to the end of it's life so replaced it but still nothing. Headlights are bright so clearly not a battery issue. Tried bypassing the inertia switch but to no avail. Also replaced battery in immobiliser key fob in case that was the issue. I then set about checking the wiring & earth but nothing obviously wrong. I then read up on the dreaded Caterham Click fearing this might have struck. Disconnected both large & small connectors to the MFRU but all connections look good but have replaced the relay with an external one nonetheless. Still won't turn over. I'm beginning to get very frustrated & running out of ideas so would welcome any suggestions!?
  12. I have a standard roll bar off a metric 2011 S3 you are welcome to have for a donation to Nuketheluke (or whatever it's called now). In good condition with all the bolts.
  13. I find Toyo Proxy T1 Rs a good wet/dry compromise on the road & also use them for track days. At about £50 each for 185/50 R14 they are good value too.
  14. Ordered two filters for £8 from Car Service Packs on ebay 2 days ago & just arrived. Includes two sump drain plug washers www.carservicepacks.co.uk
