  1. I like Llamas...................but I couldn't eat a full one 😬 Coat already on
  2. I have tiles on order from Morris, found him from the BB, pick them up next week.
  3. Kit on order, floor tiles on order, next on the agenda is what to put the chassis on. Mobile axle stands look just the job as the MX-5 will live in the garage alongside the 7. Pushing the 7 against the wall at night and back out into the centre of the garage in the morning. However they look a bit pricey, the wooden sled on top of the scissor lift gave me an idea, how about two of these joined up with four legs and fitted to four locking castors? Feasable or just the ramblings of a man frustrated by the long wait?
  4. Seals in master cylinder would be my guess, piston moving but leaking seals not pushing all the fluid. Rapid pumping would build up some pressure, but I could be wrong. Damn must learn to type with two fingers. Edited by - Domus on 25 Mar 2010 20:18:16

    Sig

Not a bug, just me being a numpty. I have now started a website about my 7, how do I put a link into my sig ie "My 7" rather than here Ta Edited by - Domus on 25 Feb 2010 11:59:05
  8. This thread is causing more than a little concern for me. Just had a look at the test fees they are £199, so a bill from CC for £900 when CC have already had the best part of £30,000 seems a little on the high side. Also giving me cause for concern are the shortage stories. How can these be? An order for a car is made with a deposit of £2,000 and a delivery date is set for 4 months. A chassis is ordered from the fabricator, engine, gearbox and diff also. Surely 4 months is plenty of time to assemble a kit, are waiting kits robbed to supply spares orders? are kits just assembled on the last minute? How does the process work?

    Cam belt

So, long Life is no better than say, every one else

    Cam belt

Most cars with cam belts advise changing at around 70,000 miles or five years. Reading the spec for the Sigma engine in the roadsport it says "Long life, glass fibre reinforced camshaft drive belt" Question, how long is Long Life?
  11. So if i click HERE it should work

Charlie, please tell, which items of your wife's clothing did you wear? 😳
  13. The dream may be over, been umming and arring all week about what spec to order. Mrs Domus has made up my mind I think, simple trip in the house, broken hip. She is devastated, she has had a bad couple of years, diabetes is no fun at all.

    IVA Failure!

How does this work? Did you build and then send/take the car to Caterham for them to put through the test?

    Curious Yellow

Reading the latest LF I am curious as to what the ironmongery is under the nose cone of the Yellow CSR on page 19. Looks out of place.
  16. Never thought about the tyres 😳. It was difficult to compare the cars with there being so many differences, chassis, engine, floor, wheel size, but CC can't have each engine in each chassis and floor for test drives can they? As you say decisions, decisions
  17. Well, took out the 125 narrow body first with Jody riding shotgun. First impressions, tiny, quick, skittish and very firm brake pedal. Then same route in the 150 SV, chalk and cheese, roomier, quicker, more planted, still very firm brake pedal but I expect much easier to live with long term. Jody then took Mrs Domus out for a ride, she came back with a positive attitude . Had a nice chat with Jody and one of the guys in the workshop. Went away with lots of thoughts and went back on Saturday morning on the way to Mallory Park. We both sat in a narrow body and an SV. I so much wanted the narrow body to be the one for me, but hand on heart, we both felt that it would be too uncomfortable for longer blats and weekends away. Price of the car went up £1500 at that moment I think we will go back in the next week or so and hire one for the day. Will keep you posted
  18. Building the 7 is very much a large part of the cars appeal to me. Just retired (early) 😬 and I don't want my spanners going rusty. Time served fitter 30 years air compressor service engineer. The thought of working with clean, new bits, rather than trying to keep old, abused air compressors oil tight, has a certain appeal.
  19. Please forgive me if I ignore you, I won't do it on purpose but I expect to be like a kid in a sweet shop. 🥰 Yes the £40.00 is my club subs, I intend to drive you all mental with loads of questions. Please tell me to shut up when I get too much.
  20. The 175 not yet ready for test drives so I am told. Don't worry about feedback, I intend getting my £40 worth on here 😬 I'm sure the test drive will pose as many questions as it answers.
  21. So, did the fault appear after the first year? Did the drivers put up with the problem for a year? Or did the factory take a year to sort out the problem? Just spoke to Caterham Midlands, 125 and a 150SV to try 😬 😬
  22. Midlands after lunch, look out for an eejit in an MX-5 with a huge grin.
  23. This has got me thinking, a great deal of the Caterham ownership thing for me is the thought of building the thing in the first place. What happens in cases such as those listed on the previous posts? When I bought my last two cars (Audi, Mazda) they came with a three year warranty, Audi and Mazda assist (for three years) and a network of dealers. In all that time all I needed was a replacement coil pack on the MX-5, and a new parcel shelf for the Audi (slight rattle) If and when I build my 7, put in the fuel and it does not start what do I do in my garage in the frozen North West? What do I get in the shape of warranty for my £20,000+? Edited by - Domus on 7 Sep 2009 21:28:04
