  1. It won't affect this ... but the 20A ECU fuse should be replaced with a 30A fuse.
  2. Check the flasher unit is plugged in securely ... they can work loose. Usually behind fuse rail ... just push all the relays home to be sure. Also work hazard light switch on/off several times (power can be off) to mechanically clean the internal switch contacts. This is another known problem. Either of the above can cause trouble.
  3. Northbound. Couldn't wave or flash ... too many cars around
  4. Each link showed a load of choices !
  5. (I did a search but couldn't find any info on this!).Almost afraid to ask ... you searched Google for knob polishing ?? 😳 😬
  6. Sounds like a bad connection inside the Maplin unit. This can cause arcing which can generate heat and current drain. As an aside, battery termnal should not be crusty. Clean it off with a wire brush and a damp bit of paper towel ... may be old battery acid if previous unit was a wet battery, not a sealed one like you have now.. Disconnect wire, clean terminal and connector and remake with a bit of vaseline or silicone grease smeared lightly on all surfaces
  7. Spot of loctite ? I just do them up with a 1/4" drive ratchet.
  8. The other thing I found recently was my boot floor not secure. The aluminium extrusion across the boot between the ali and wooden floor sections was not securely riveted. The self tapper screws fid not bite into the extrusion or rear chassis rail. Fitted spire clips all round and re-riveted extrusion. Much quieter now.
