  1. I use mine on the passenger side of the tunnel, in front of the gear lever. It's usually ok but I got quite bad clipping at Llandow last weekend: I think I either need a mic with a volume adjustment on it or need to wrap it in some extra foam.
  2. I've got a set of new Apollo (the black diamond cut ones) wheels with ZZS on them coming this week. I'll be interested to see how they compared to the CR500 I've used until now.
  3. I built one for mine from a light from Maplin (which is the same as the MSA light). I intentionally positioned it so it's visible with the half hood and a boot bag.
  4. Just a side comment in regards to the ratings system. I think they've changed it the past year. I've always bought Eagle F1 Assy 2's for my Megane 250, and they're always been "A" rated for wet grip (they're a fantastic road tyre for a sporty hatch!), but I noticed the rating now gives them a "C". So I wouldn't worry about the ratings too much. My CR500 got an absolute thrashing at a very hot Pembrey last year so I'll be looking for a new set soon. I might well go for the ZZS if I can get any. Otherwise, I'm still very happy with the CR500. They've been great in all conditions including very wet tours in North Wales and Scotland.
  5. Mine came with 15" wheels, and I'm now on the small 13x6 wheels all round. The ride height is a bit lower, but apart from a few particularly nasty speed bumps (usually, the tall but narrow kind) I've had no issues. The handling is definately more predictable on the small wheels. As has been said, you can feel the slip approaching before whe wheel actually looses grip.
  6. Had mine done last year and it, along with a service and MOT cost me £450.
  7. I found the silicone spray worked well to quiet down the boot lifters on my Megane, it's quite sticky and it certainly lasts. I use the same stuff on door hinges and it works well there too.
  8. Thanks guys, I guess I'll order the gasket and the catch tank at the same time. I've seen a few photos of the catch tank up front, there's plenty of room there and if that's where they fit them from the factory then that's where I'll fit mine. Thanks everyone :) Andy
  9. Yeah it's the plastic cam cover - same as the 125. So, so let's assume I add a catch tank. Would you go with the standard Caterham (Washer bottle!) catch tank or something else? Where would I mount it (space is rather limited in the 140)?
  10. Mine's an early one - an '09. Fitting a catch tank is something I'd certainly consider if it's going to improve the reliability of the car. I certainly don't want oil spraying everywhere again! After some quick googling though, it does seem the Zetec/Sigma engines are prone to leaking from the cam cover gasket.
  11. There's definately no catch tank, it all feeds back into the engine. Unfortunately the car doesn't live with me, so fixing any issues tends to take a while! I'll hopefully get some photos this week or on the weekend. It seems to be only on that side of the engine, the other side looked clean, but without seeing it in front of me, I can't really remember. However, it's the area around that bolt that's leaking the most. That's where I was finding drips on the floor.
  12. Thanks for the link John, I'll definately be grabbing a copy of that. Yes I believe we did! Horrid weather in the morning, but quite a bit better in the afternoon. I had a fantastic day there this summer, too hot if anything!
  13. It's had plenty of track use (it was actually one of the cars used at Autosport one year), and it's been drip free until now. The last time the car got any major use was in August when we took it around North Wales. It just seems odd it would go now :S
  14. Hi Chris, Thanks very much for taking the time to help me out! My mistake with the Caterham site was searching for "gasket" and not seal, I'll get one of those ordered. Mine's a 140 without a catch tank, but I'll check out th breathers and see if there are any issues. I'll probably give this a go myself soon, I'm keen to get my hands dirty with as much of the car as possible. Otherwise, it's due its service and MOT in Jan/Feb anyway so I could get it looked at then. thanks, Andy
  15. I have to admit, I'm a bit out of my depth when it comes to engine problems - I don't know which pipes are the breather pipes, and how would I go about finding a blockage? If I was to order a new gasket, does anyone have a link to the correct one? I can't seem to find one on the Caterham site, I guess I could go direct to Ford?
