  1. Yes, those 'clips' seem very similar to those in the pics on my car. I've also seen advice that cleaning the rubber seals also helps reduce rattle so I'm going to try that. Meanwhile a Renault dealer has quoted £2134 inc vat to fix the problem (by replacing the entire sunroof mechanism), err no thanks!
  2. I love Marmite, I'm not going to waste it on a Renault! The car is a Renault Grand Scenic 2010 MK III [2005-2014] MPV 2.0 dCi. I'm getting nothing on searching for the MK III, but the mechanism looks similar to a MKII. This is the closest thing I've found so far Meanwhile I've bought a tube of Silicone Grease from RS. It's super super sticky, so I'm hoping that will help as well.. Thanks for all the suggestions so far! M.
  3. Yes, Silicone Grease was on my shopping list. Is there something thicker though?
  4. OK, not exactly cream, but you'll see what I mean I have a Renault with a rattle (not unique). The rattle is coming from the sunroof rear carriers, which run in a track down the roof of the car (the sunroof sits outside the car when open). The carriers have some play in their tracks which in itself doesn't bother me, it's the rattle you get when they move that's pissing me off! Apperantly TADTS, and the normal solution is to buy a new pair or carriers which come with a 'special grease' to apply. What I'm curious to know is what that special grease is, as I'd like to try refreshing the lube in the area to see if that stops the rattle. I've included a couple of pics to try and help explain what I'm on about: So, if you guys were trying to fix this, what grease would you put down there to lubricate but also reduce the amount of free movement? Given it's all plastic I'm assuming something not regular grease based would be wise, I guess it should also be pretty resistant to water washing it away, almost something waxy? Any ideas would be really appriciated (PS yes I've tried the renault forums, but I'm looking for a slightly more intelligent answer, hence I've come here!)
  5. Hi, Ed, Domo has the brooklands I'm afraid, do you still want the wheels? Martin

  8. Wow, what a spec for the money
  9. Thanks for the advice and kind words My only slight concern is I've priced it too cheaply now! 😔
  10. I've had a few emails about the car, all of them from international buyers. Is this normal? None of them appear to be trying the well known scams so I assume they are real, which makes me wonder if there is something about the car which makes it appealing import in? M.
  11. Thanks, I'm going to stay a member and troll on here still, I very much expect to have another car in a couple of years :)
  12. Selling my 7, after 7 happy years I need a 2nd car that 3 small boys can fit in! Car is listed in Pistonheads here M.

  14. Looks like a lovely house I would seriously think about renting it, I'd imagine having it so newly refurbished would help get a premium on the rent market which might not be so pronounced on the buyers market? Good luck either way

    What upgades?

I'm sure this will be contentious, but in my opinion I'd focus on stopping as well as going faster. The AP 4 brakes are very good, so I'd personally suggest you spend the money on that at this stage rather than things like an LSD or different gear ratios. Getting the engine better protected for track days is also important, I assume you can get an Apollo for the Sigma engines? If you go that route, make sure you also get the one way valve from Think Automotive, a quick tech search will throw up the parts. Otherwise have fun! I've spent a small amount on my car upgrading it from a very basic spec, and tuning the engine was the most expensive and in the end the most problematic thing to do M.
