    Be careful if you use different ones, they are not all the same. Its not always obvious that they are different.

    noisy diffs

    The main problem is as already stated the cw and pinion are no longer genuine parts. When Ford made them the tolerances and finishing procedures were much better, but they were made in far larger quantities and Ford could reject the ones that were not right. I also think that the rebuilders of these diffs do not spend the time needed to build them as Ford intended. It is quite a lengthy job setting the depth of mesh and can not be done just fitting the shims that have been fitted previously. A few diffs do fail, lack of oil and faulty or old bolts seem to be the main cause.

  4. The bar bolts through the lower bell housing bolts. Early dry sumps of that design had a nylon wedge.
  5. It uses the standard part.
  6. The Caterham diff struts work fine, easy to fit and do what they are supposed to do.

  8. Thereis a one piece water hose which is now used in place of the water rail and hoses. It runs under the throttle bodies. It's a Caterham Part.

    There is nothing welded inside the diff, unless BMW did it during manufacture .

  13. You need to balance it as one part is being replaced, not just the u/j!

  16. Not sure I completely understand, why don't you fit it so the master spline is at the bottom?
  17. Air filter has a seal so that only filtered air enters the engine.
  18. It's not a password you need, it's a copy of the correct Caterham software. Not sure you will get that.

    Find someone with a Timesert kit. The insert can't wind down.
