  1. My boot floor lifted straight out when the screws were removed - but thats on a 2006 SV. I had fuel dripping off the DeDion after the rubber return pipe joining the pipe running along under the floor (from the injection) to the tank had split in many places. I have also had the strong smell of fuel after filling the car up for a day or so unless going on a long run to lower the fuel level - that turned out to be the rubber pipe that went from the filler neck to the tank - again loads of hairline splits in the pipe allowing vapour out. Good luck lifting the floor. Phil

Mike, did she toot me? I seem to remember someone tooting on the way home but didnt recognise anyone so just carried on regardless Phil
  3. I thought it was a good set - but there again I hadn't seen Ian Anderson (or Jethro Tull) since 2001. Have to agree with Phil G about Marc Almond - his performance changed my views on his singing. Food was pricy, but being able to order interval drinks for a discount was very handy :-)
  4. Hi Ian, I had a mouth full of food so couldn't get your attention as you were leaving the Consort cafe - I did text you but reckon I had an old number. Phil
  5. I knew it was your car I saw on a trailer going down the a130 but when I pulled up alongside it and saw someone else driving the towing car I thought I was going mad again. Sorry to see it go, not that I ever got too close to it on the Saturday boats Phil

I work out of the Harlow office as often as possible, but only managed Wednesday to Friday this week - otherwise I am condemed to the damn train from Southend to Liverpool Street - I so prefer to be the only person in the office at Harlow and getting to use the 7 although Colin (Dignity) loves to spot me when the weather is bad and making comments about me having the half roof on So i have changed my route to avoid him

Nope - not a Westie - It would have been me leaving Station Approach on the way back to Southend. Did you toot as you passed in the opposite direction? Phil
  8. I was also driving a hired Morgan round there, but didn't see a single 7 Wish I had because I was missing mine and driving the Morgan made me realise how much I missed it.
  9. I get about 15 from a 3.9 Disco so for a 1.8 that sounds a bit low but depends ho you drive it. I can get about 8 if I boot it everywhere
  10. I booked a test in Southend and drove the car from Newton Abbot to Southend stopping for fuel and lunch. I was told that as long as the testing station can prove you have the car booked in then there is no law being broken regardless of distance travelled. Phil
  11. Hi Mike, I must have been coming back from the Fennes and was trying to work out why the car was trying to kill me The grub screw on the steering column had come loose and was allowing a "lot" of play in the steering. All sorted now I heard a car toot at some point - was that you?
  12. Thanks for the responses. I have just spoken to Arch and they will weld and brace the floor Friday morning - looks like I will make Dunsfold now
  13. I remember how much "fun" it was putting the floor in a few years ago and dont have the time to replace it before next Saturday. I am pretty sure a few guys I know are TIG welders so will see if I can bribe one with beer. I still have the old floor so may make up a few brace plates once the split is welded up. Phil
  14. Hi Colin Afternoon session - assuming I can get the floor fixed - I decided I fancied a slow morning before facing the TG circuit Phil
