  1. The QED remote stat is supplied with an 8-16-16 tee piece as it’s meant to splice into the 16mm hose out of the header tank, not into the 8mm hose from the CH to the header tank. I had one installed in my old k-series for a good number of years and never experienced the issues you are referring to Paul. That said I was never convinced the QED solution was a perfect solution as it did seem to result in the engine cycling between normal to low temps until it eventually evened out. Graham
  2. Now sold. Thanks for the interest Paul.
  3. Nick, leave that with me, I'll come back to you. Paul, interest noted if it doesn't work out with Nick. Thanks both. Graham.
  4. Radtec high capacity aluminium radiator for Caterham S3, it came out of a K-Series but I believe also fits a Duratec, I don't know about the Sigma. It has previously had a small weep/leak from one place, which was repaired and pressure tested by Radtec. It was put on the car and subsequently used for approx 3 years before it was removed and the car was sold. It has now been unused for about 5 years. For Sale - £60 + Postage (Collection
  5. Have you seen this thread, it has reference to a lambda sensor for a duratec 420 /forum/techtalk/420r-emissions?page=1
  6. I did something similar on a TVR recently, I put these on the underside of the floor so that the bolts went through something more substantial than just fibreglass (which is all they do on a TVR ). Aluminium Channels Graham.
  7. Arron, if by luggage bag you mean the SBFS boot bag, then I have an SBFS E Bag (One of the original ones not the later RE Bags) that is now surplus to requirements as I no longer have a Caterham. Let me know if you're interested and I can send you a photo. Graham.
  8. Nick, when I did a similar exercise on my engine a good few years ago, I replaced anything that I regarded as consumable, that included the mounts, given the amount that will have been spent on the engine refresh etc my view was replace all that type of thing whilst it was easy, and the increase in overall cost was marginal in reality. Each will have their own view I appreciate but that's what I did. Graham.
  9. That looks distinctly like a Powerspeed system, there were several club organised bulk buys of their excellent 4-2-1 systems a while ago. Sadly I don't believe they are around any longer. Nice looking car btw, good luck with the sale. Graham
  10. Btw, would agree with Ivaan that fitting an Apollo is worthwhile, but I had an apollo and it still happens, it's just the design of the engine that makes it so, there are things you can do to help but you can't eradicate it.
  11. Skorn, when cornering hard the oil in the sump moves away from the pickup in left hand corners, the hotter the oil gets the more likely it is to happen. Personally if it's only dropping down to ~30PSI then I wouldn't worry. The sump gasket mod is easy and worthwhile doing as it could help alleviate the symptoms. Graham.
  12. Message to Probe2. I am unable to respond to your message as your mailbox is full. Graham.
  13. I sold my K-Series Superlight a few years ago now, originally the purchaser intended to buy this engine but later changed their mind so I am now selling my old engine. This engine was removed from my 1999 1.8K Superlight about 12 years ago, when I purchased a 2nd hand VHPD engine to replace it. It has since been stored covered in my garage, with all holes (exhaust ports etc) either taped or covered using an alternative means. So as far as possible it’s been sealed. I have poured a little oil into the bores and turned it over manually, using a socket on the front crankshaft pulley, on a regular basis, it turns easily. Full spec below: 1.8 K-Series (EU2) Supersport – 140BHP Approx 20K miles at removal Caterham Lightweight Flywheel Caterham Sump Pan Vernier Pulley’s Original SuperSport ECU (no remotes as these went with the car) No ancillaries (e.g. alternator) If I was buying this then before I put it into a car I’d replace the timing belt and pulley, I’d also remove the flywheel and replace the rear crankshaft seal. It would obviously be a good opportunity to replace the head gasket but I suspect not strictly necessary. Any purchaser would also need to programme any remotes to the ECU but I know there are people on here that can do that and also probably flash a better map on to it at the same time. The buyer would need to collect as I have no way of transporting it, I’m based in the South East not far from M25 J6. I have found it very difficult to value this as I’ve never seen an equivalent for sale in recent times. But I think given the cost of the sump pan, flywheel and the verniers alone, then a price of £1250 for the whole package is a fair asking price. I am happy to provide photos or further info to anyone that is genuinely interested. Graham.
  14. Looking at the size of the connector (looks like 8mm), the only thing I can think it's meant for is the 8mm connection to/from the header tank but I haven't seen one there previously and if you used it you'd have to blank off the current connection. Could it maybe intended as a bleed off point? If you want to blank it off then maybe something like this would work https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/search/203660010 or connect a short piece of the correct diameter hose and insert a blanking plug in that. Personally I'd be inclined to contact the manufacturer and ask them what they intended the use to be. Graham.
