  1. Sounds rife for a cheeky offer
  2. It not on your register either
  3. ‘Stunning’ - no. The engine bay wiring is shocking, no idea what’s going on at the battery. The front track rod is obviously rusty, front wishbones and wing stays need cleaning up. All could be sorted with some effort, but it’s not stunning. That’s said it looks in nice condition on the outside and cockpit. Just the details let it down. But it’s a lot of car for the money - RBTB, Dry sump. This car looks much better, it’s a genuine R400, for more or less the same price https://www.ptsportscars.com/car/2003-caterham-r400-superlight/
  4. You can get some grease in the rack by taking the RH gaitor off, turn the wheel fully right and directly applying grease to the rack. Then wind it back in again this might help.
  5. Ive had this on my 1.8k when I went from an old copper Covrad triple pass to a new Radtec standard road radiator- the new rad was so much better at cooling than the old one, despite it not a being triple pass rad. in the end, I found some ali sheet and blanked off about a 1/3rd of the rad, secured with ali foil tape.
  6. I think that Allegro is part of the 'rat look' sub culture i.e. make your car look like it's been fished out of a lake.
  7. It’s an epoxy I believe. When I replaced my pump, I also repaired a spot of damage on the wiring in this area,. I picked out the original brown plastic / resin material with a small flat headed screwdriver, and back filled it with a lump of premixed Araldite. Obviously you don’t want want to do this when the pump / tank is on the car, as it will all run out!

Sounds to me like you need to invest a couple of hundred quid in a setup/ flat floor session. If your based in the north, I can recommend Dave Gemzoe near Wakefield.
  9. I wish Oxted would make some heated versions, these would be fantastic!
  10. If the foam is crumbling with age, it will be clogging your oil pick up in the sump, reducing oil take and lowering pressure. I wouldnt drive it until you've checked it out. If you handy with the spanners its easy to take the sump off from below the car - just a number of 5mm and a couple of larger (8mm?) caphead bolts on my car. If in any doubt that enough oil is getting to the bearings, I wouldnt run it until youve checked it out.
  11. Can you plug in a laptop and see if anything has obvious failed? eg if the temperature sender is not sending a signal to the ECU it will show as XXXX in the software display. Does the throttle position need recallibrating? Thats an easy one to do on the software.
  12. That will ruin the carbon fibre if / when it needs removing!
  13. Would two plain nuts screwed on allowed you to loosen it by using two spanners to lock the nuts together and turn ACW? Edit - no. its doesnt look like you have enough thread exposed to try that.
  14. One good thing - at least access isn't a problem! You could probably drill out through the centre, progressively increasing in drill size until the bolt starts to collapse, then retap. However, ISTR there are various products out there to help - 'easyout' being one example. Good luck.
  15. Oh and another - ask them to check over the dedion tube. You may be recommended a replacement, as I was. It's worth doing this to get the latest stronger tube design, with heavier gauge steel.
  16. Yes, its getting on a bit!
  17. Mine went to arch for a lighter touch chassis refurbish a couple of years ago. I couldn't stretch to a full chassis strip, blast and recoat, plus it didn't really need it. Arch replaced all the external ali panels, treated, primed and sprayed any corrosion on the space frame they found. I had the inside of the engine bay/ side panels powder coated black to help reduce the ali/steel bimetallic corrosion that can occur, and to smarten up the engine bay. It looks really good. They replaced one the upper rear damper mounts that had crossed threaded. During repainting, TSK found the bonnet had filler on and had previous been painted, so I ended up with a new bonnet aswell. I regret not having the floors replaced as I found a load of loose rivets over winter under there and enlarged holes where the steel rivet has dissolved the ali floor.
  18. Test, wouldn’t work again so toggled disabling rich text, and the keyboard popped up. TBH my iPad is ancient, and running an old IOS, so wouldn’t be surprised if issues are starting to pop up. New one for Christmas I reckon!
  19. Mankee is a top bloke, such a pity he’s not a club member anymore.
  20. Ah, I can reply by enabling rich text
  21. But I can reply from my iPhone runningIOS 15. Is there a known issue on b older IOS?
  22. Can I post? I seem to be having trouble? answer - it posts but i can’t reply. IOS 12.5.5.
  23. Wouldn’t a great upgrade/ just add lightness project to fit an electronic handbrake like most modern tip tops have. No sweary cable to remove, adjust, handbrake gubbins. A little button by the gear stick, would be great.
  24. Spotted mid afternoon today, a group of about 4 7s, at least one CSR, heading north between Broadford & Sighachan. Hope you have a good Easter break
