  1. I've run wrap on my K series for at least a decade after loads of starter problems and crusty cables. No ill effects on the engine so far, but its 'only' a 1.8 Supersport, nothing too lary. Performance-wise, nothing discernible this far from fitting it, but I remember its did change the tendency for exhaust pops so it was doing something.

  3. If you want to be thorough, don't forget the 3rd braided cable between the tunnel and de-dion tube.
  4. £359 each.....presumably Chris is selling a pair?
  5. Rare as rocking horse do, best take a deep breath and be prepared : https://caterhamparts.co.uk/dry-sump/3114-sump-pan-dry-sump-rover.html
  6. I spoke to Geartorque yesterday - his quote over the phone to rebuild my ZF LSD with new bearings etc was a rather astonishing £680+vat. I explained I wanted a check over & refresh, new bearing etc, and he suggesting Id be wasting my money if its not excessively noisy. I also spoke to Alan Voights in Wallasey, Merseyside and they quoted £355+vat for the same with a week turnaround. That would be a clean, check, bearings and reassemble like for like, keeping the internals and CWP the same.
  7. Might be interested, got any pictures? Are they black or silver?
  8. That looks perfectly normal to me, and shows the mag plug is doing what it should be doing. You don't appear to have any larger lumps of bearing materials or anything else. Its looks like simply fine metal particles in oil. Wipe it clean and monitor it would be my suggestion.
  9. Oh no! Did they suggest an alternative or how to proceed? I do have a spare purple one, but its staying in my spares box. Please could you PM me your contact at Titan as I should get the spare rebuild so I can rotate them over winter.
  10. Titan used to offer a rebuild service on these and the purple pumps. I dont know if they still do but it's worth a call I expect. I guess it depends whether the pump is badly damaged by your engine problem. I had my purple pump rebuild about 12 years ago when I rebuild my engine, I should have it looked at again. https://titan.uk.net/products/dry-sump-kits
  11. I'd give Arch a ring and ask for advice. Caterham are unlikely to be much use.
  12. Cant you just give the ends a quick rub down with very fine wet & dry paper before crimping? Just a twist in a piece of pinched paper should clear any oxidation shouldn't it? Or cut the small amount of old exposed wire and restrip a fresh bit? There is usually some surplus in most of the wiring runs in my experience.
  13. Your engine project is something I did many moon ago - a 1.4-1.8k conversion. DVA made me up a new bottom end, then I transferred everything across, inc the Supersport head, to the new short motor, running it on MEMS with new injectors for the first year. Then I fitted a set of the KV6/ SLR throttle bodies and an Emerald with a mapping session, all with the 5 speed box. Have you a set of Vernier pulleys on the cams? Incorrectly timed cams would make it feel flat, and can make a noticeable difference when dialled in properly. The 1.8k with 5 speed is a good set up on the road IMO - the torque of the bigger engine suits the gearbox much better than the 1.4 did.
  14. Yep, I concur. You can't swop and change bits around unless you want to start cutting and welding, the systems are designed a whole. I looked at fitting a larger SLR silencer to this system and the inlet was too short. If you fit the 4-2-1 collector to your manifolds it will be too long and you'd need a bespoke silencer. It not a bad system, much better than than the standard exhaust, so your not in bad position for engine mods.
  15. Have you check your fuses? The whiring and click after ignition - are these coming the fuel pump? When the ignition is turned on the pump should prime, with associated whirring from the back of the car.
  16. Why not just buy a set if ZZS? They're in production until the end of the year AIUI.
  17. If you get up the M1, Dave Gemzoe is near Wakefield. He's got a rolling road.
  18. Can the easy in / track day cage be made to fit a imperials S3 dedion chassis?
  19. Have a look on eBay - measure the bolt head and search for 'XXmm nut cover' or similar. I got some for my upper seatbelt mounting bolts.
  20. Bargepole. As in wouldn't touch them with one until some proof of expertise and experience. Plenty of good specialists already in the area who are a known quantity - Track v Road, Clitheroe, Dave Gemzoe, Mikeanics, Oakmere - all not too far away.
  21. Do you have an IACV? Is it enabled in the map?
  22. It's a bit hazy now, being several years ago, but when I changed from front facing single TB to KV6, I retained the throttle cable. Have you rung Chris at Redline yet?
  23. Might be a silly question, but as Avons are still in production for most of this year, why are you all panicking? If you bought Avons now, or anytime in the next 6 months potentially, isn't this only going to be a problem in several months or next year?
