  1. But I can reply from my iPhone runningIOS 15. Is there a known issue on b older IOS?
  2. Can I post? I seem to be having trouble? answer - it posts but i can’t reply. IOS 12.5.5.
  3. Wouldn’t a great upgrade/ just add lightness project to fit an electronic handbrake like most modern tip tops have. No sweary cable to remove, adjust, handbrake gubbins. A little button by the gear stick, would be great.
  4. Spotted mid afternoon today, a group of about 4 7s, at least one CSR, heading north between Broadford & Sighachan. Hope you have a good Easter break
  5. I've fitted the new pads over lunchtime (still WFH mostly ). The old pads were both located correctly; however, the inner LHS is noticeably not flat against a steel ruler. So that pad was not helping. The new ones comfortably cover the witness mark on the new discs, so hopefully that's a lesson learnt - don't be a tight arse when changing discs, even if the pads have plenty of meat left. Just hope the Mintex 1144 work on the back. I might just check the bleeding again tonight before I put the wheels back on. MOT tomorrow so can't do more now.
  6. Well hopefully the new pads will fix it
  7. I suspect I’m the ‘Tom’ Doug was helping. I ended up buying a short loom and diode from eBay, and it was quite simple to fix, albeit rather awkward under the dash / above the steering tube. This one I think, but without the LeD relay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292435466307
  8. I think so, but I’ll be investigating shortly. However now I’m worrying that I’ve got the wrong pads coming! My fronts brake are HiSpec 4 pots, running on standard discs with the larger Elise pad in Mintex 1144 compound, with standard pads on the rear. When I spoke to Redline today, and explained what my front brakes were, Chris thought Mintex 1144 on the rear would be good. I lock up my fronts in a hard brake/ emergency, which he thought meant the rears weren’t working hard enough. But fitting Mintex 1144 on the rear doesn’t appear as a recommendation inn these pages, and it’s contrary to most opinion with Mintex in the front and standard on the rear. However with my slightly unusual front brake, I not sure if fitting these on the back is the right choice. Any thoughts?
  9. School boy error I guess. The old pads had plenty of life left and they’re flat against a steel ruler edge, so thought I could reuse them. I assumed a sticky calliper, so a clean up would help diagnose. Guess it now pads or bleeding issue. Someone on the FB technical group suggested the piston seal plays a part in pulling the piston back into the bore when th brakes were released. Not sure if that could be something? If pads and bleeding again don’t get better wear/ contact, I guess I’m going to try a new / rebuilt calliper.
  10. Standard rears for Sierra as far as I know. I've ordered a new set of pads from Redline, and Ill try bleeding again. Something isn't right.
  11. Over winter I’ve taken the rear brakes apart to try and fix what looked like a lazy calliper. The inside of the left brake disc had evidence of only partial contact of the brake pad to the disc, as the shiny part of the disc was narrower than the right side. The rest of the inside of the disc was corroded, where the pad wasn’t sweeping the surface. I took the callipers off, and on the bench I took out the pistons to check for corrosion, cleaned the sliders and reassembled them with special grease for the pin sliders, and piston /pad interface. However, following reassembly with new discs, the witness marks on the new disc after a quick shake down, again suggest exactly the same problem is still occurring. What should I be looking at next? New pads? Refurbished callipers? Or do they look ok and I should just keep an eye on them? Old disc inside edge New disc witness mark with pads, showing similar pattern with reduced contact of pads possibly apparent. Other side of new disc for comparison.

    Posterior

OK, they're the S type seat. Was wondering if you had Tillets. They're made by Oxted Trimming, so it might be worth contacting them to see if they make something more bespoke to your posterior

What seats do you have now?
  14. Premier Paint Guard - PPG - fitted PPF to my newly repainted 7 a couple of years ago. They offer a club discount too. https://premierpaintguard.com/caterham_S3_paint_protection_film.html
  15. The supply and return pipes down the tunnel are not rubber - from memory the high pressure one is metal and the low pressure return is black plastic.
  16. I needed a longer braided hose to go to the new higher entry on the tower - I ordered one from CC, but its was far too long, so I had Think Automotive shorten it for me. Apart from that, easy enough.
  17. For Sale - A rare RIF Carbon fibre aeroscreen, mirrors & half doors for a S3 narrow bodied Caterham. Two of the mirrors are SPA formula mirrors in black plastic, and the centre is a Carbon fibre racetech. The half doors are Soft Bits for Se7ens, unfitted and have no pre-existing popper holes. This would make a complete aeroscreen package, so I’d rather not split. I’ve had these in storage for several years, but haven’t used them. I don’t foresee me using them now that my 6 year old son is starting to come in the car with me too, plus my already limited time and mileage doesn’t need further constraints adding in! They will be difficult to post, so collection or mutually convenient meet-up would be preferred. I live in north Manchester / east Lancashire area. £300 for the package.
  18. As I started the thread, I looked back and it doesn’t look like a posted a picture of my finished car, repainted in Porsche Racing Yellow.
  19. A touch melodramatic? Sizewell C is proposed next to the existing Sizewell B - it's not going to wreck the whole coast of Suffolk anymore than Hinckley Point C wrecks the whole coast of Somerset or Sellafield the Cumbrian coast. That said, it is adjacent to RSPB Minsmere, so the impact on internationally important wildlife sites is likely higher. On the Chinese point, I think HMG is looking for alternative investors seeing as we've gone cold about the Chinese state having involvement in our critical infrastructure. I'm conflicted as I could be involved in tendering for a significant amount of work at SZC, and I'm an RSPB member.
  20. ...but its not. At least in the UK.
  21. Its not the only thing Porsche or Ferrari do though - which could be the case post 2030 if CC don't pull off the transition to EV.
  22. Completely agree - I rebuilt mine a couple of years ago, full re-skin and repaint, nuts and bolts - I spend about £4k plus my time. I don't think such a service would be a starter, especially as the panelling and painting might end up being subcontracted. Looking at auction value of well restored vintage 7, Im not this would be viable. Porsche do something similar, but given the values and number of of old 911s still out there, its probably worthwhile.
  23. I wonder if ownership/ management culture has driven the different approached by Morgan and CC. I think Morgan is still family controlled, whereas CC have been an asset in a airline magnates business portfolio, with limited apparent product investment in the last decade. Maybe a more hands on ownership, locally in the UK would have been able to forsee the changes necessary.
