    Airchamber

Has anyone used an Airchamber to store their 7? My garage is beyond damp and is due to be replaced but not now until after Christmas. Therefore, I want to protect the car in the meantime and am looking at an Airchamber (see here). My main question is about the size to order. I have a CSR which, in theory should fit the 'Sports Car' size. Has anyone experience of this size and a CSR / SV?
  2. I have them, they are fantastic! Drove all the way to and from Le Mans this year with no problems at all (and I have a dodgy back which was operated on in December 2013). If you were a bit closer to me I'd suggest you come and try them.
  3. I was in a black Evoque as you were negotiating the speed bumps. I was tempted to take my CSR today but didn't fancy the traffic. Nice colour scheme!
  4. Before I put this up on eBay, does anyone want to buy my old iPhone (selling as I couldn't resist an iPhone 6 Plus)? It's a 64GB Silver (white) which is 10 months old and has been in a Mophie battery case since new and has a screen protector fitted so is in excellent condition (there are a couple of small marks on the back from where the case has been taken on and off so can't say it's like new). It comes boxed, with brand new charger, cable and headphones and a 3 pay as you go SIM (it was on O2 but has now been unlocked and the 3 SIM is installed and working). I have photo's of everything if you want to BM me. These are selling on eBay for up to £450 so looking for £400 (or £420 with Mophie battery case) and will include insured postage to the UK only (if outside UK, will charge postage at cost). Simon
  5. Steve The lights go much brighter than they used to on my previous RoadSport which is why I had thought it to be an issue. If this is normal, then that's fine. The temperature gauge seems to work fine until it gets up to temperature then goes mental - moving between over and under-reading constantly, movement when I increase revs or make turns and then eventually falling back to zero and staying there. Had similar symptoms with the speedo until the earth mod was made (which appears to have cured that problem) hence me thinking it's earth related. Maybe I will change the main earth cable and see if that helps... Surely cheaper than a new gauge. Simon
  6. Not the same problem as you Steve but having temperature issues with my CSR. I'm having real problems with my water temperature gauge as it never seems to read reliably even after a 2 new senders plus a rewire of the connectors at the engine end. I think it's either the gauge itself or an earth issue so I'm going to try everything I can before paying £80 for a new gauge (unless the gauge can be tested somewhere?). I have also noticed in the garage that when I have the lights on, they noticeably brighten with an increase in revs so I'm wondering if there is more to the earth problem than just the temperature gauge.
  7. BTTT in case anyone is interested, it finishes today and looks as though someone will get a right bargain!
  8. I have this up for sale on eBay (see here). I'm happy to take it off if someone here wants to offer me something very near to the buy it now price (with all the bits included, it would cost well over £300 to buy new).
  9. Chris, no, mistaken identity! I had no problems with noise and was expecting to after being tested at 98db in the morning.

    Replacement Tyres

Many of us who have 15's have moved over to Toyo T1R's (I did so a few years ago on my previous S3 k-series). I liked them and have not heard anyone who has swapped complain about them. However, I'm guessing we don't get the temperatures in the South that you will see in Scotland but I found them very good and predictable in the wet. Might be worth a look as they're only around £50 a corner.
  11. Merrick Many thanks for organising a really great day yesterday. And the ordering of the weather was spot on 😬 Apart from me being the cause of the red flag in the first full session (car just switched itself off, no idea why - sorry), I had a fantastic series of sessions and was gaining confidence with every lap. It was great to catch up with other club members, put faces to names and wander round looking at the cars (although I'm still not sure about pink on a 620R but had a lovely chat with the owner). I have £10 to send to NtL which was a donation from Danny who was working at Brands and asked for a passenger lap. He seemed to enjoy it! Can't wait for next year!

    Vinyl Stripe

Slight thread hijack but... My car currently has fluorescent yellow stripes on the nosecone, bonnet and rear as well as 'Caterham' stripes along each side. However, the CSR 260 badges / stickers (2 sides and 1 rear) are in grey and I'd like to replace them so they match the stripes (car is Anniversary Green so it's a good contrast). Any ideas where I can get these? Thanks.
  16. Mark The mileage was a problem for me too. If you BM me your email address I can forward Garry's email.
  17. Did the mod this afternoon (took a bit longer than the CC guys probably do it in) and early indications are that it's fixed!! Thanks for the email Garry, that helped a lot.
  18. My car was 96db (if I remember correctly) at Brands for the club track day on the Indy Circuit this year. Having re-packed I'm hoping it will be slightly lower so measuring the 2 cars in the same way using a phone app, knowing what mine was, should give an indication. However, as we all know, what actually counts is the noise meter on the day...
  19. If you have a smartphone you can get apps that should give you a reference point. I re-packed mine last night (although it probably didn't need doing looking at what came out and was a pain getting it lined up and back together) and will hopefully be at the Ringlestone next week so we could try my phone app against both cars to compare.
  20. Is there any chance you could take it over and get it tested one day / evening when there is a track day on? That's probably the safest way. I'm repacking my silencer (large quiet one) this weekend just in case as I don't want to miss anytime on the BH GP track day.
  21. Perfect! *thumbup* This should link to the exact post here.
  22. Quoting Garry7: Update: Having had the new sensor on for couple of weeks the speedo started to fluctuate wildly again with occasional drops to zero - failed to record mileage during the fluctuating phase. It went into CC for the mod (as described by Andrew above) this morning - so far the signs are good - rock steady needle that is with 3-5 mph of the satnav. Will report back when it's got a few more miles under its belt. Garry, can you BM me details of what you did as this is next on my list of things to tackle. Thanks.
  23. There are some CXR's for sale here that appear to meet your requirements.
