  1. I almost bought one of these back in the mid'90s when I wanted something 'spotier' than my red with black hood 205CTI I found a nice red SS1 with a hard top, Xflow 1600 and it was'nt bad, but I compared it to an 80s 1700 XFlow Supersprint, bought the 7 and the rest is history. Have a link on me. http://www.motorbase.com/uploads/2007/11/18/fs_scimitar_ss1.jpg A good project for someone
  2. I've got the BDR (one built and one new in box), I'm looking for the Tamiya JPE next.
  3. a single 16x6 Caterham 8 spoke needed as a spare. Any colour, with/without tyre, used or new, as long as its true it is to be refurbished with others anyway. I will arrange collection.
  4. Thanks Adam - what is now my brother's '99 Supelight K 1800 - is an EU2 so it might be a handy spare. Sure pictures appreciated.
  5. Is injection plenum from EU2 or EU3 1800K - photos?
  6. Is injection plenum from EU2 or EU3 1800K - photos?
  7. will pay post or collect. New or used with headrest pockets for S3 leathers
  8. Sure Marc - PMail me your location, whether its a purchase or swap and I'll get you some more details, photo and part no. etc by return. Thanks
  9. If only Caterham had persevered with the 1.0 Ecoboost in the 7 instead of the Suzuki '160' - would have made a great seven. I am aware they did try their best to make it work but it was too tall for the bonnet sadly. I also wish Ford had put the Formula Ecoboost road-going concept into production - I loved that car and would have ordered one immediately if they had. Good luck with your sale - its a great little engine the ecoboost in your car, and they weren't cheap new ! - so someone can experience this great little engine at a knock down price.
  10. I bought some spare guages recently as spares for a late 90s K-series - and a new-looking early 90's oil pressure gague, black bezel, VDO branded /Caterham tagged with new sender - were in the box. Surplust to requirements - they sell similar looking units new still, though not through Caterham, for around £45 for the gauge and £20 for the sender - will sell the pair (gauge & new looking sender) for £25 delivered (or swap for any later 'Caterham' bezel branded gauges to keep as a spare)
  11. I have a spare Acumen DG8 from the bike world and I'm wondering if anyone has fitted one to their cars in the past? If so where on the loom can it be sucessfully inserted, and if not has anyone used the analogue receiver for one on a seven? If not I will keep in case I ever build anything with a sequential box where these are very handy gadgets to indicate what gear you're in.
  12. I had a little bit of trouble myself but got there in the end and its worth it - its like the lotus7club.co.uk & batchat.com all under one roof. Once we get used to the new site it will be really appreciated long term. Thanks to anyone involved from a layman's point of view - I appreciate the effort behind the scenes, and I know people don't generally like change, but I can see its all for the greater good in the case of the L7C site here.
  13. The rear QR straps simply squeeze between the roll bar bracket and bar and are easy to fit (remember to remove them when you sell your car though - if forgot to and have a half hood with no straps now, doh! - and theres an R500 somewhere with a pair of straps and no half hood running around somewhere) now. They couldn't be easier to fit and its a much more pleasant experience driving a car with half hood up compared to full hood - it still feels more or less 'open' and keeps all but the heaviest rain off you. I recommend them - got mine from Thunder Road - Oxted Trimming - nicely finished product. I went for vinyl last time, but fabric or mohair is probably better as the vinyl stretches a bit, but looks more like the original hood, door and tonneau material.
