  1. If you’re changing the m/c look at the AP uprated version. There are other outlets that sell them other than Caterham. I got mine from BG developments. I believe they were an option on Westfields too. It does alter the pedal characteristics - shorter travel & more leg force required. I soon got used to it for a mainly road car. Ian

  3. I have a K series which is wrapped mainly to stop the heat killing the starter motor!
  4. When I helped Tazio renovate his BDR he relocated the battery to the boot as he had a DS tank too. Fitted a PVR25 against an ally plate steel riveted to the rear bulkhead.
  5. 17 inches / 43 cm bottom of lower tube to top of upper tube. 1998 S3 arch chassis.
  6. The supersport shift light is simply a large LED on a bit of cable with one econoseal pin fitted. I’ve actually taken mine off as I have DRE shift lights fitted. Its not for sale but if anyone wants some pictures then let me know.
  7. Stu, They are different to my caterham supplied hoses which came with the widetrack kit in early 2000s. Quite old now so I need to get them changed (reading the other thread)! Perhaps Caterham encountered this rule on exports and change the design? Great result for Hanns as the latest parts seem to solve his problem. Ian
  8. Sorry. Mine is an imperial chassis. 44.5mm long 19.1mm OD 11.5mm ID If I didn’t have any and was getting some made I’d size the chassis and get them made to measure. Ian
  9. My ‘98 seven came with stainless braided brake lines. They are as you describe ‘assembled’ with threaded parts and brass olives. I know this as I made up the pipes for the flexible lines on the rear dedion. And the fronts are identical. There is also a braided line between the chassis and dedion. Presumably it is just a case of finding an OEM rubber hose of the right length and the same end fittings? Ian
  10. Ivan Dutton’s solution on his Climax engined seven…

Caveat Emptor Have a read of his trading T&Cs! Its Webb BTW.
  12. Lets not forget the valid point that has been raised. A feature of the new forum is that we cannot self amend our posts after 7 days. This is a change for all of us that needs due consideration. The LT have this logged as something to review, which I trust them to do.
  13. I have some but away till Sunday (if you can wait)
  14. I use several car forums albeit they are free and most have a time limit for amending your posts and anything after this window needs to be changed by the moderators. Its never bothered me. In the case of fixing old links to make them useful again, which is an honourable and very helpful activity, you could be promoted to ‘moderator’ for period of time as another option. Anyway, the point has been registered. I’m sure the deployment team need a well earned rest for a while - excellent work! Ian
  15. If its a dedion the lower diff mounting bolts are ‘special’!! They have a 1/2” imperial shank (to fit the chassis bush) and a metric thread to fit the Ford differential. They will be, I suspect, a machined / re-threaded 1/2” UNF bolt. I found on a friends seven that the previous owner had fitted normal metric bolts giving about 1/2mm of play in the bush. Obviously the clamping force would have contained this to some extent but not ideal when you’re pushing well over 200hp through the 8” rears! There are also some specific thickness washers between the brake caliper and front upright (I think they are referred to as ‘pink’ in the manual) which fill a gap where the back plate would be clamped on the Triumph. Ian
  16. Just spotted this on ebay - it looks like it is for a live axle car as no bosses on the base plates…. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196046165085?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=eFTfCI_JQwq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=lIIQa3JRTlK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  17. It took me 7 days to build mine (10 hour days) with occasional help from a mechanic friend and dad on catering! Ian
  18. DHLAs - thats an unusual fitment - factory fit or later modification?
  19. My '98 K was supplied with 14" KN Minator minilights. Other wheels around that era and earlier were the KN Jupiter style. Not definitive or conclusive but the two 14s I know of around that time. Ian
  20. Its in the first post... FYI - Dave is an engineer who worked with Caterham on the install of the K series engine in a seven chassis - if anyone knows the source it would be Dave.
  21. There was a large batch of new ones released 2 or 3 years ago and the current 2nd hand prices are comparable to the new ones (not via Caterham!) Oh well - I quite like minilights!
  22. Ouch! minilights needing refurb are £120 a set. looks like my search has come to an abrupt stop!
  23. Skipper - Arch don't paint cars in house albeit they probably outsource. Chassis repairs they are undoubtedly the place to go to if you have a bronze welded chassis or CSR. Re painting - CJ Tallis in Hinckley used to paint sevens for Classic Carriage and the early days of Caterham Midlands so not sure whether they still do them. They used to paint the bulkhead and scuttle unlike some other painters who left these parts bare ally. My car was painted by them. Clive was the proprietor.
