  1. Ital is 3.75” or 95.25mm PCD
  2. They’re not ‘that’ expensive for new complete units - Google Britax 9060 rear light. (I know you’re sorted - just added in case anyone searching the forum!)
  3. The other point to note is that heavy objects flying around in the boot easily dent the ally skin!
  4. 0-60 Longacre here - had it for several years. I like it because I can accurately get it to the right single unit of PSI (not easy on some gauges). I usually inflate higher using the compressor then bring it down using the release button on the Longacre. And it glows in the dark!
  5. So I’ve dug out the brochure and the full picture I thought was a purple car was actually blue. It does have a cropped picture of the image you posted above. I did find a smaller (2.5” x 1.5”) pic of a bluey purple HPC with grey interior and the distinctive shaped headrests.
  6. This might help…. fog light and heated screen are effectively the same on/off switch. The hazard has 6 wires so easy to spot the loom plug.
  7. Does anyone sit in the seat? If yes it could be a very bad idea removing the headrest. In an accident it will stop whiplash and head contact with FIA bar. Even with a helmet on the bar would need some sort of approved padding. Some people have added headrests directly to the FIA bar instead of the seat mounted one.
  8. This is exactly what I did.
  9. The brochure I have circa 1997 (when I ordered mine) has a cadburys purple seven in the pictures - I’ll dig it out and post a pic. Those original metal / enamel Lotus & Caterham badges are quite valuable and sought after.
  10. Did you get sorted? I have a copy I can send though just need read the article myself 😗!
  11. Searching ‘slayer’ brings up a few hits
  12. I’d happily run with them. Extra weight negligible 😁 Ian
  13. I’m sure the build manual said to slip a bit of washer tube over it to help with rattles?! Interestingly, my build manual shows a thicker version for the 6 speed box which is no longer to be found anywhere (I posted about this a few years ago). Anyway, the 6sp works fine with the above style pivot. Ian
  14. I agree with Simon, relieve the mount. On my 98 car the engine earth bolts to the chassis using one of the mount bolts. It is recommended to clean parts to bare metal to get a good contact. Bit of coppa slip prevents corrosion.
  15. The next place to check is the coolant rail just above the exhaust - the rear gasket can leak sometimes due to front fixing being away from the head. When its tightened it affects the mating face. Lots in the archives.
  16. What is the reason? Rainexperts are poor or your preference is something grippier that is compromised in wet / persistent rain?

    VHPD Head

There is a complete VHPD engine in the for sale section - perhaps the owner will split it 🙂
  18. continuing with the nostalgia. I kept my copy of this from the 80s. I was one of only 6 people to take O level technical drawing at my school - most took CSE.
  19. Have a close inspection of the engine mount(s) they have been known to crack. Later ones have an extra fillet welded on
  20. Most car batteries seem to have covers - I wonder if the fixing peg spacing is standardised?
  21. They are often a different size and gauge of tubing and different fixings too. On the older cars you’d also need a different boot cover. Not sure on the metric cars. Its buy new and unfortunately the old ones don’t tend to have much value.
  22. I fitted new harnesses last year and had to do the same. It was a couple of hours work incl tea! While its annoying, sometimes you have to go backwards to do it right.
  23. Looks like its been bolted up already - it has a circular witness mark.
  24. Part no is 100E 2471. this is useful….. https://www.7-dna.com/spannering-2/lotus-7-parts-comparison-list-last-revision-1015.html
