  1. Is there much work required to put in the low level light and adjusting it accordingly? Is it something others could follow ?
  2. Thanks for those threads and I hadn't seen them. It would appear the issues with the float arm would not occur on 2020s's as they have the newer sender, the only possible issue that could occur wasthat the float may be orientated incorrectly. but the only way to check that would be to remove the glued on carpet and remove the boot to check. Has any one with a 2020 or newer SV got their fuel tank to take more than 24l once it hits the end of the empty guage? Incidentally does the guage drop lower than the E (red zone) in to the white dotted section? Sounds like I should have approx 10l of usable fuel once I hit near the end of the red zone, will see if the guage drops any lower and use the trip meter till I work out an average trip where I am filling atleast 30litres.
  3. Did you work out how much past empty your car went? I run mine till the bottom of the red portion of the guage but cannot get more than just over 24l in a 2020 420s. Considering it's a 41l tank, it would sound like these floats are under cutting it by quite a lot?
  4. Thanks for the feedback. Commentw would now suggest this is 'normal' in that some suffer with this issue in varying amounts due to lack of synchro, putting it in first each time is not too much of a pain to help guide it in and there's nothing that can be 'done' to eliminate such an issue. Perhaps some cars have the shaft spin a bit more than others and hence why it's more noticeable
  5. Same hot or cold. If I put it in first before reverse then it never clunk's.
  6. Okay, thanks. I'll continue to select 1st gear before putting it in to reverse, which seems to prevent it.
  7. It had the clutch fluid replaced 300miles ago (when I bought it) as part of 24 month service. It also did it before the service
  8. Would you get the garage to do something about it?
  9. So this would appear to be normal on this gear box ? I'll try just that and see. thanks
  10. 420S 2020, but with a 6 speed gear box. Push down for reverse When the car is cold it always does a loud clunk/grind once it's selecting reverse, sounds like changing gear with no clutch (I reverse it out of the garage), so is noticable/annoying. It does select fine. Clutch is fully depressed, car is not moving and just started. It does not usually occur once car has been running for a while (wondering if it's just because the other gears have been selected first). I tested it after a run today 5 times, as I wondered - back and forth and no noisee. The next thing I was going to try was just going to first, or a series of gears before first selecting first to see if it helps. No issue ever in any other gear and gears feel very smooth. It has been like this since I bought it, I remember hearing it on the test drive. I didn't think about it at the time, as as there is a hell a lot of noise coming from a variety of places Is this something I should worry about or is it normal - as it does have 5 months warranty remaining?
  11. I read some studies in 2001 about different companies fuels, octane, cleaners, additives etc. Off the back of that i have always filled my cars with shell unleaded or diesel. I would then fill with vpower about every 5-10 fills or if it was my second 'fun' / performance car, always with vpower. I always get better mpg with vpower, but not enough to offset the cost as such, but for it's cleaning properties. Needless to say I've never had any issues of bad dpf's, deposits, gunk build up or premature wear in any of my cars, so continue that way for the next 20 years too. Incidentally shell has never been more expensive than any other competitor, not including supermarket stuff, which isn't im the same ball park
  12. I wanted to source a wind breaker for long motorway journeys. There didn't seem any option but mesh mounted stuff made by softbits. I looked around for alternatives and found the mx5 wind breakers are near on exactly the right size. That and with the fia roll bar there is already 2 pre drilled convenient holes to mount it too. i removed the mx5 brackets, covers etc and bolts through the roll bar. it works perfect and blocks so much wind, it also doesn't look too weird. I thought I'd share. The mesh section is also useful for storing keys etc in. I even managed to get small bluetooth speaker in there that is loud enough to actually use. It's easily mounted and removed with 2 bolts and looks to be able to fit in the boot when not required. example mx5 wind breaker" https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276285359546?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Gbv_VrvVQcq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=xyigqGQpRLS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL And attached is it how it looks
  13. When I had ppf installed, they removed the union jack badges. I noticed one is now damaged (see picture) is the part for this correct: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/badges/4923-badge-union-jack-self-adhesive-metal-enamel.html I measured it and the dimension match, i don't want to drop £20 for a badge and then find out there is different versions, can anyone confirm? Thank you
