  1. Bob, I took the dampers and springs off my Roadsport, give me a shout if you need a hand Hex socket at the top behind the carpet, normal bolts at the bottom, protect the chassis and support the De Dion Rik
  2. My Roadsport was very twitchy on bumpy roads (especially the bit of the Fosse south of the A5) Running CR500's so it wasn't the tyres, had the tracking etc all done, finally played around with the castor after chatting to BC'ers in a Northampton pub SV's being widetrack are set up as 040 washers, I changed mine to 222 and it was much better. The steering didn't get noticeably heavier but it ran truer and self centred. I checked with Caterham and they said there was no reason why I shouldn't, just down to preference. Rik

  6. Yes, Troy at Northampton Motorsport did mine Will post up the chart when I get home, but 142 calculated at the flywheel was what springs to mind Based on this, and the fact that it was a smooth curve, I settled for the map that I had and it seems to have been fine since Edited to add, its in my sig link below "Dyno Run or here Rik Edited by - Windy Corner on 15 Jun 2011 09:34:50
  7. Almost exactly the same symptoms I had after my trip to Curborough Caterham Midlands also diagnosed a Lambda Sensor, although at a significantly higher cost Nice to know there are alternatives Rik
  8. Proxy spot by MIL Orange H636 *G* and a blue RX60 *** spotted in Gilmorton, Sunday afternoon Rik
  9. Like Dave said - Castor The Build Manual advise that for widetrack the castor should be set as 0-4-0, i.e. 4 washers in front of the rear lef of the lower wishbone, putting it as far back as possible. The 'narrow' setting appears to be 2-2-2. I guess if yours is an SV like mine it will be the widetrack My symptoms, were very little self centreing and very twitchy in the straight ahead position. After discussing it with many, inc. CC, I went for it and changed mine from 040 to 222 to increase the camber by moving the lower wishbone forward. Handling was instantly improved to the extent that I wished I had done it 2 years ago. After having it retracked it was even better. Self centring was there as well as a feeling I could take my hand off the wheel to change gear without thinking I would end up in a hedge. When it was being tracked, the castor angle was still within tolerance, which I understood was 4 deg +/- 1 deg. An easy change to see try and see if it helps Rik
  10. When I spoke to Brett at CCM, they were on back order, but he did say a few weeks, and that was "a few" weeks ago so you may be lucky. Whether they will be open or not though................... 🤔 Radtec quoted me 8-10 days as they would build to order Rik
  11. When Bruce at Arch did mine, it was exactly as Paul described Rik

    jacking

On the recent GTKY7 at Cat Midlands, Nick Potter was advising that the tow hook was as good as anywhere to jack the front of the car. I have used it since and it seems to work well, not much chassis twist at all. Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  14. Guy, Agree with Tim, now is the time, and if you have the spare on for most of the time, then you won't mind if its there or not...... Anyway, when you're driving it, its everyone else that will be looking at it not you !! Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  15. My tin says Viper GTS Blue SBE-PBE Chrysler Hope this helps Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here

  21. On the Discovery 3 site, the Auto owners set great store by the "Auto Box Double Flush" here May be worth considering.......... Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  22. I agree with Dave J, the 90 degree lip looks like it is on the car and the wing is waving around. But the break appears too clean to be delamination. Were some wings made with a separate 90 lip that was bonded to the curved wing ??? Looks odd anyway, perhaps sikaflex it back on............. Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  23. My Sigma 150 had its first MOT not long ago, emissions were fine, even though exhaust is always sooty. The main issue, was the harnesses as they didn't have a BS or E marking, apparently FIA isn't in the Testers Manual. In the end he passed them saying "well, its not as if they're going to come loose" 😬 Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  24. Back in Blighty now Thanks Piers, I had done the same and guessed that they were all like that. Jason, let me know when, but you have perhaps answered my original question, are the 13"/14" Stays "bigger" than the 15"/16" ??? Logic tells me that the 14" wheel and tyre combo is bigger than the CR500, but the 13" combo should be smaller................... Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  25. Jason, Big shiny headlights, windscreen surround, shiny wing protectors are the way to go ....... 😬 Goes with the nice shiny paint colour Those are 13", which I still have with 185x60R13's on, looks much better but lowers the car too much. I have raised the rear to raise it back up again, but now the wheels look lost in the rear wheelarches If I could get 14's on under the existing arches, that would be my preferred option, I would then keep the 15's in case I ever sold it, hence my original question..........
