  1. Martin, Considering doing exactly the same as you, for exactly the same reasons, Caterhams last comment was "Its not as noisy as some and at least it doesn't leak" Have you got R & R contact details and any idea of cost and timescale Thanks Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  2. Thats what I meant to say 😳 Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  3. Three of them shouldn't light up, off the top of my head, hazards, brake test and fog light ??? On my standard dash they're the three on the far left Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  4. Somebody flashed me and waved on the A5 on Tuesday, but did I get a spotted 🤔 Where are you Mr White Puegeot Man................ Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here

  6. Yes it is that easy, but only if you have tiny hands or an SV 😬 The space by the side of the petrol tank is a bit tight Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  7. Final Update Th car was at Northampton Motorsport this morning, for a rolling road run. This was to have been a mapping session with reflashed ecu's etc etc. In the end, and on discussion with Troy, we decided to benchmark it only, as the latest (Rev H) Caterham map seems to have done the trick. The car is now as good as I need it, and with the updated map, is the car it should have been all along. For those interested in numbers these are below, the plot can be seen at here Theoretical - 150 bhp @ 6900 rpm, 120 lbft @ 5600 rpm (Flywheel) Actual 142.4 bhp @ 7396 rpm (corrected to flywheel) 109.7 lbft @ 5468 rpm (corrected to flywheel) which when measured at the wheels - 120.1 bhp @ 7040 rpm I won't lock this thread as others may still be able to usefully contribute to it and help out each other. I would be interested to hear how others have got on with the latest map, as far as I know Eccles and I seem to be the only ones to admit to it (perhaps everyone else is still grinning too much) Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  8. No, I was flaked out after doing the Sunrise Blat R Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  9. Just got back from CCM (no, it didn't take that long, but I had to go the long way to work, just to test it out of course 😬) Well, I though after the last round of mods, it was as good as it got............ It just got a whole load better 😬 😬 Better idle, smoother 900 rpm instead of 1000rpm No flatspots Instant response (no delay or chug) Much smoother power delivery, plant your foot, and it just keeps on going !!! I can actually believe now that it may be a 150 bhp model, as before I had my doubts !! The permagrin is back again 😬 Thanks to all at CCM, and Ivan for being the Guinea pig (BTW mines at Revision H, CCM never got Rev G ?) Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  10. Spoke to James at Dartford (as Brett wasn't in) The upgrade should be free, takes about a half hour to reflash the ecu and recalibrate the Throttle Position Sensor. It apparently hasn't been rolled out yet, but they have started doing some, he mentioned that he had already recived an ECU via the post........ I think, unless you ask for it, it will get done at the next service. Mine should be in on Wednesday, will report back then Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  11. Ivan, How much do you think it was the map and how much the refurbed throttle bodies ?? Was there much wrong with the TB's ?? Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  12. So with a 24 h Go Kart race and a midnight solstice blat, is night-time the new daytime ?? Trying to work a way of getting on this one Ian...................... Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  13. Thanks for the feedback, looks like I'll be calling Brett on Monday morning 😬 Thanks Ivan for being the guinea pig, anyone else had "the" upgrade ???? Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  14. Russ, Mine came with a K Manual, give Caterham a ring and see if they will send you the right one. They did a whole mailing, perhaps you were missed off ? Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  15. Come on Ivan, don't keep us in suspense, have you got it back yet ?? Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here

  17. I too await developments with baited breath ............. Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  18. Ivan, Thanks for the update Can you ask wht revision of map they have put on it. Mine has Revision F, but I don't know if it has changed since April when mine was in. Thanks Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  19. Steve, no discernable difference in ride height. Can't comment on the track performance, as I haven't tracked either, but I did take a set of 185x60x13 A032rs to the Academy day and they were fine, although not a true track day test. Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  20. I have CR500's & 15" Anthracites. I now also have a set of 13" Minilites with 185x60x13's all round. Fit is very good, diameter is near identical, (tad smaller apparently) ride height the same, keep original 15" wings & stays I've got a piccy somewhere............ Obviously the 13" CR500's are 175x55 (fronts) so will be smaller (edit) Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here Edited by - Windy Corner on 6 Jun 2009 10:53:40
  21. My rubber one is a 20 year old Draper one and still works fine Its not what you've got, but what you do with it 😬 Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  22. Pete, You want the 10mm one, although it isn't 10mm across the flats, so not sure what the 10mm refers to. Make sure you get one with a rubber insert or similar, makes life much easier when withdrawing and replacing plugs If you're not doing much saturday morning, I could come over and give you a hand ???? Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  23. Sorry about that Peter, and I hate jargon . Be interesting to know what they tell you, they did to it, Ivan, when you get it back. Mine was at CAt mIds for 2 weeks which I thought was a long time............... Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
  24. Some more news Had a chat with Robin at the Factory yesterday, explained that although all was mostly well, there was still some flatspots and I was thinking of getting it looked at to see if anything could be done with the map. Was there any chance of the pincode ??? Not surprisingly, there is no chance, apparently they use the same pincode for all ECU's including 125's and 150's which would have disastrous repercussions on the Academy of anyone got to "fiddle" with it. He did mention, though to hold off doing anything else, as they are about to release a new "calibration map". Apparently they still accept although the current map seems to work well on some cars it doesn't appear to be as universal as it could be (my words not his) Apparently (and please correct me as I don't know what I'm talking about) the current map is based on the manifold pressure sensor, but they are changing it to be based on the TPS. The current map (based on the Manifold pressure) is great when it works but not so great when it doesn't. Basing it on the TPS should mean a more universal map that should suit all cars. It should be out in 2-3 weeks, so time then to start pestering CCM & CCS to get it updated (should be free ??) Any comments would be welcome as I am not sure how this black magic ecu stuff works and whether it is likely to make any difference Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here Edited by - Windy Corner on 28 May 2009 10:59:16
