  1. Sadly, due to a move to France, my 2011 150 BHP Sigma-engined Roadsport SV is for sale. She has never been raced, tracked, thrashed, or abused in any way (sad but true!). Rather, she has been used on long continental tours, mostly dry, usually in the South of France and has clocked up 15000 miles. She was built for me by Caterham and is in outstanding condition. She is in Prisoner colours (BRG, yellow bonnet stripe and nose-band). Extras include all the usual stuff, full weather gear, heated windscreen, proper track day roll bar, 4 point harnesses, leather seats, heated windscreen, plus tonneau, Thundersport quick hood, Caterham full hood, MoMo steering wheel and unusually, an Arch manufactured aluminium Brooklands aeroscreen that can quickly be substituted for the Caterham windscreen (looks great!). The diff carrier is the super-engineered one fitted after the Caterham recall. The rad has been replaced with an all aluminium one because the 3 part Caterham one sucks! All-in-all a car that is in exceptional condition. £19,999 and can be viewed in Lewes, East Sussex. You can email me (the owner) on pmobbs@aol.com or phone my good friend who is looking after her, Manek, on 07788923557 (manek@manekdubash.com).
  2. Julian, Watch out, that gloopy paint may be two part requiring K2000 hardener. I couldn't work out why my Caterham bought BRG paint would not set - turned out I needed the hardener. I have some here in Lewes somewhere if you want a few mls. It thins the gloop as well as makes it set. All the best, P.
  3. Thanks all. Will get new loom from SVC when I get back. Mirrors are on there way here. I made a mistake parking in view of hotel but on other side of main road. Been doing trips to Carcassonne and all over France for 10 years. Never had a problem before. Classic was good but more commercialised than when I last did it.....
  4. Stopped at a Logis near Argentan in France after the Le Mans Classic and woke to discover my wing mirrors had gone and that some toad had tried to remove one of the headlights by repeatedly rotating it. I have cobbled together the turn indicator and some of the other wiring but the edge on the tube at the base of the headlight where the wiring exits has severed the dip beam wire leaving no option to patch. I can get by without dipped heads until I get back to the UK but then I am wondering how best to permanently repair the wiring. Is the the black subloom socket to the headlight/indicator something I can source and then attach tails I can feed up through the support tube? If so, where can I get one.......looks like a bit of pig to do... The car is a 2011 Roadsport 150 SV. Edited by - Pmobbs on 11 Jul 2014 11:21:10
  5. PS Only in stainless. PPS if you can drill and tap aluminium rod I think it would be easy to adapt them to mount on the windscreen too. Edited by - pmobbs on 30 Jun 2014 11:19:35
  6. You just need the mirror and the ball joint: £16.00 here - Mirrors from svc
  7. I can vouch for the fact that the convex glass in the Lucas mirrors gives a great view - can't think why Caterham use flat.....
  8. P.S. 35 grams lighter but then I am many kilos heavier!
  9. Thought this might be useful to someone....fitted circular convex glass Lucas mirrors to my Roadsport Brooklands aeroscreen and liked both the retro looks and the visibility they provided. For long tours I shift back to the normal windscreen and doors. Have never liked the Caterham mirrors - some do, well and good. Leaving for Le Mans next week and thought about how to fit Lucas mirrors to the doors. My solution was to use the Caterham mirror stands - remove the nasty plastic-backed oblong mirror, using a big drill, mullah out the turret that normally holds the plastic mirror spigot down the level of the hole at the back, thread that hole (1/4 20tpi) that normally carries the star-head fixing screw, put a spring and normal washer on the Lucas spigot and screw it in. Looks like this........takes ten minutes.

  11. I was sent a picture of my son Ben sitting in what appears to be a mahogany 7 with clam shell wings sitting outside a small industrial unit!
  12. If you get Caterham stuff, unless its changed recently, it's two part and you need K2000 hardener unless you want a sticky mess! Caterham, bless their souls, don't tell you that!
  13. Thanks. Not used by my 4 point harness but guess it could be for standard belts....7/16ths would be about right size. I'll pick up a bolt and try it.
