    Blyton Video

Shaun and Simon; thank you both for sharing these videos! I'm officially a 'work in progress' (insert crying emoji). It was a cracking weekend though, and even with the incidents, loved how smoothly each day ran, and how much track time we actually got!
  2. Did I see you parking up in the layby overlooking Thirlmere yesterday?
  3. How much lighter are the CR500's to the ZZS? If it's very noticeable, I would stick with the CR500's Stu, or maybe even consider CR's on the front (for the steering feel), and ZZS on the rear? I've been out public road blatting these past two weekends, but just swapped back on to my ACB10's for the Blyton sprint weekend, and it always amazes me how light these tyres are, compared to the A048's I use on the road, and how the steering feels so much lighter!

Did you spot me in my Snapon truck lol?

    M6 today, Penrith

Spotted a white Caterham, followed by a lime green Caterham, in convoy with a Morgan? Drove under the motorway bridge as I drove over them, at around 11.30 this morning, what a great day for a drive out!
  6. I can confirm the clear Perspex version from Meteor is a great bit of kit! The first time you drive your car with one fitted, it is slightly unnerving as you feel very exposed, but you quickly get used to it! You can swap back to your full screen in about 10 minutes if you want, but I can honestly say I've never switched in the 3 (?) years I've been aero.
  7. It's really quite easy to do, and mine has worked perfectly since I installed it. Mail me your contact details and I'll sort you a couple of pics.
  8. I have one spare mate, if you're still looking for one?
  9. I'm running a CC dry sump system on my 1.8 K, but using Jenveys rather than the standard plenum. The bell tank tower breather and rear cam cover breather are both piped into my catch tank on the scuttle (vented to atmosphere), and the other cam cover breather just has a rubber hose to atmosphere too. Seems to work for me?
  10. Hi all, does anyone know the diameter of the exhaust manifold primaries as used in the Caterham 4-1 side exit set-up? The guy who bought my old Supersprint engine has transplanted it into a Mk1 Escort (radical, I know!), and is currently shopping around for something similar to what was on my car originally (long since sold). Cheers!
  11. *thumbup*Why not? The worst you can do is try it, and either they won't heat your garage enough, or they'll swine so much electricity you'll switch them off again
  12. As per the title, does anyone have a spare gathering dust, before I order up a new one?
  13. Hi James, you may want to consider having a set of your existing pads remanufactured with a similar material to RS15, if you have a chat with Carbotech. Tim is very knowledgeable about friction material, and gives an excellent service
  14. As above, I have a perfect condition quick release boss to suit Momo steering wheels etc., with the matching upper steering column section. £125 + carriage please. By the power of EBay, this has now gone!
  15. I have a solid tonneau cover available, it's never been fitted to a car, and doesn't have pockets for Tillets, or cutouts for a full cage (which is why I haven't fitted it). Let me know if you're still looking for one.
  16. As I read this, am I correct in assuming this just needs a LH lower wishbone to make a complete set? Les

    1.8 K noisy exhaust

Ok, time to update this thread, and let you know how I got on with this exhaust through the year after repacking with the Acoustafil. In short; brilliant! I cleared every scrutineer at the 7 hillclimb/sprint events I was able to attend, usually recording 97 or 98 db. My guess at the higher 102 db at the start of the year was maybe the packing hadn't expanded and bedded in fully? It's fine now in any case, just need to see how long it lasts, before I have to repack again.

    LSD advice

To the OP; if your car has the early, Sierra-derived driveshafts (the cv joints will have a cylindrical shape, not the 'pinched', tri-pedal design), then it is a very easy swap to a 7 inch Sierra viscous LSD, but I would advise you swap your 3.92 crownwheel and pinion over from your standard, open diff

    Clay bars (again)

I use the Autoglym kit, works for me, but usually top up with the Meguiars detailing spray because it smells amazing

    1.8 K noisy exhaust

Just a quick update to this thread; 3 Sisters sprint 99db; Forrestburn hillclimb 100db. It'll be a case now of monitoring how long the packing lasts.
  21. Why don't you just rebuild your car around the 'mouthwatering xflow' you already have? Just include some 'modern' refinements of 3D mapped ignition for improved drive ability, and maybe fuel injection? Cheaper and easier in the long run surely?
  22. I had my screen replaced by a local auto glass expert, they cut some modern-spec laminate, refitted with the original rubbers, and charged me £40, a top job! I then went aero.........
