  1. And I have a SBF7 half hood for sale, so there you are lol!
  2. Thanks Graham, I'm sure I read something similar somewhere else (the old BC perhaps?), so I'm willing to give this a go.
  3. Can anyone confirm whether I can fit a current, 'Caged' FIA roll cage to my imperial S3 car please? Cheers Les.

    Shell Seat

Hi Elie! That's correct, but 2BGR's message didn't come through. It probably got stuck in one of them 'cloud' thingies.......... Cheers Les.

    Shell Seat

Don't know where it went lol, I haven't received it? Another bug for new site perhaps?
  6. I have a CC 6 speed gearbox which will be for sale soon. It came off a Rover R500, has done approx. 11k miles in total, and was refreshed last winter before fitting to my 1.6K. You could drive my car to test if you like, I'm in the throes of fitting a sequential.

    Shell Seat

I have a fibreglass low back bucket seat in black doing nothing in the garage, how does £40 + carriage sound?
  8. Hi Piers, on the off-chance your car will accept a 15 inch wheel option, I have the set of four steel wheels and tyres that I used on my B6 A4 Avant for sale, as they will not fit my 2011 A4 Avant S Line. My model specifies a 16 inch wheel on the door sticker for winter tyres, yours may be the same?
  9. Ok, after much urine extraction from my fellow Club members, I'll be tenting it this weekend. 😳
  10. Wow! Another L7C member north of Oxford? You should get your satnav updated mate! 😬

    Yarm, Saturday

White with blue stripes, looking very hot in the sun!
  12. Wasn't me, but I think I passed him at a similar point on my way up to Kirkstone (my back garden btw) one evening
  13. What's wrong with having a stick-on plate across the top of your nose one, like I have? It's about as lightweight and aerodynamic as you'll ever get with these cars?
  14. I am very interested in this gearbox, can I take 1st dibs please?

    Kumho tyres

I have pair of 215-50-13 Kumho V700 tyres, in K12 SS compound, dated 1910 (no jokes please), with approx 4mm tread on them. Only ever used for sprints/hill climbs, so barely any miles on them, just quite a few heat cycles. £100 the pair, including carriage in the UK.
  16. I installed a 6 speed gearbox over the winter, and with the 3.9 diff In the two events I've competed so far this year, I'm having to adjust my launch technique off the line. It may be easier with fresh rubber giving me more grip. It was even more interesting last Sunday when two bikers pulled alongside me at the traffic lights, one shouted 'Give us a do?' And obviously I obliged! 😬 Trouble was; I was on the 48R's and the wheelspin was horrendous! I gave them a good run though, with my little old 1600 Rover engine
  17. Well thanks for your thoughts; I'll give Mel a ring on Monday.
  18. If your insurance doesn't cover the cost of replacement, try your local windscreen fitters. They should be able to cut you a piece of laminated glass and fit into your frame, for around £60. It will be unheated, plain glass, but safer in the long term than Perspex.
  19. How long /how many heat cycles do we expect the Kumhos to last, and still be competitive for sprinting with? Mine are in their third year now, and after I scrubbed the driver side rear (from snapped DD tube), I was thinking about renewing. 😬
  20. I was just looking at buying a pair of 215's, and was quoted £90! Trouble is; should I get the SS again, or just S to match the front 175's in S?
  21. Just to throw a spanner in the works; I have the CC 4-1 Race system fitted to my 1.6 K (for the time being), but I only use the rear bobbin and bracket to my car. Although the previous owner suffered bracket failure and dragged the silencer around for almost a full lap of Knockhill, resulting in a reduced tailpipe, the system is still going strong and always tests around 98db at MSA events. To spur on your purchase (it's not an upgrade Love, it's just how they make them now honest!), my engine is making approx 180 bhp with this system
  22. I have the 3.6 crown wheel and pinion from the Ford viscous LSD I fitted to my car. I swapped the final drive from the original open diff for hill climbing/sprints etc., not because of noise issues. Let me know if you haven't got sorted yet. Les
  23. I've traded my B6 Avant for a B8 version, and of course, these won't cross over, so I'll offer them in here before using the usual auction site. Set of Thule roof bar clamps (I had aero bars but I'm sure they fit the other type aswell) version 775, which are the quick and easy fit type, will fit any car with roof rails; Set of blinds (rear 3/4 of car, they just clip in, work and look fantastic, easily remove for dark winter months/window cleaning); Set of 15" steel wheels with 195/65 Dunlop D4 M+S tyres, approx 6mm tread all round. Open to offers, I'd prefer to sell to a L7C member, rather than let a stranger grab a bargain though! Edited by - LesG on 3 Jun 2014 07:21:44
  24. Ok, having had another look, I can see it's the A-frame bush mount catching on the chassis rail which the outer skin wraps around. I will check with Bruce before I do anything else, cheers
  25. Is this the longest running thread in here? Ok, had the delight of my DD tube fail last Sunday, at Scammonden Dam hillclimb. I appear to have V2, and this has snapped almost completely in two, just after the central buttress. I was flat out, just changed up into 3rd gear, and chasing a class record needing only another half-second! The 'wiggle' from the rear was interesting! Anyway, as luck would have it, I had a newer V3 tube in the garage, and have fitted this, only to discover the wider buttress bottoms out on my two inner chassis rails. Do I cut and shut the chassis rails further apart, heat the rails and flatten them so the buttress doesn't butt them, or can I order a replacement tube with smaller buttress and through-tube mounts that is an improved design? All advice greatly appreciated!
