  1. My Dad is looking to replace his antique BMW 5-series touring 😬 and is interested, I'll forward the link to him. Expect him to be in touch, his name is Martin Lee. Jon
  2. Hi Steve, I would expect the bulk of the value to be in the adjustable platforms and that most people would want all 4 rather than just 2. Please blatmail your offer for consideration. Regards, Jon
  3. Howabout £150 delivered to whereever you want them? 😬
  4. Bilstein Dampers with Adjustable Platforms: Fronts: Model 75526 M0 (Road spec) Rears: Model 75527 M0 (Road spec) These were bought from a fellow blatchatter but will not fit my car with 1994 front suspension. They are from an SV but are the same dampers as fitted to 1996+ S3 cars too. They include the spring retainers, caps etc. *** REDUCED TO £130.*** I'm based in Dorset but will be in the Slough area on 3rd September and at Legoland for Amazing Machines on 10th September. Otherwise P&P will be £10. Jon Edited by - New Cat on 30 Aug 2011 13:46:26 Edited by - New Cat on 13 Sep 2011 12:35:56
  5. Thanks very much guys, I think I'll order some spanners rather than botch it 😬 Jon
  6. I have an adjustable Bilstein suspension with the old style Castelated collars. What size C-spanner is the best fit please? Neither Redline nor Caterham have been able to supply one or advise. Thanks, Jon
  7. I'll pass the dibs onto Simon, thanks again Dan. Jon
  8. Hi Dan, What condition are the wheels themselves in please? Do they have polished rims? If they're good I'll take them then please. Jon
  9. My wife received a call about her old car from a loss adjuster saying that it had been involved in an accident and asking for details of the new keeper. There has been no suggestion that the accident occured while under our ownership but would you provide the new keepers details assuming you had them? I'm inclined to tell them to speak to the DVLA. The car was purchased with cash.
  10. Thanks Gary, YHM 😬
  11. Looking for some standard narrow track Bilstein dampers - particularly front ones. Need to be in good condition and the later design with lower circlip grooves (for adjustable platforms). WHY? Please Blatmail me details and what you can offer. Many thanks, Jon

    SOLD

Yes please, with courier. Can you blatmail me the details of how to pay you? Alternatively you could bring them to Quay for my Car I'm not in a hurry. Thanks, Jon Edited by - New Cat on 8 May 2011 18:41:55
  13. I have a normally aspirated one of these and its been a great barge and utterly reliable car, also such a beautiful car. Given the sound, the mega performance and the lack of real fuel penalty for going XJR I sometimes regret not doing so. Big from me and best of luck with the sale. Jon
  14. I'm sure its a lovely car and one of many itches I'd like to scratch but its not a show car and probably never will be. With little history, exhaust issue and such a short ticket its a sub-£1000 car in my book. If you enjoy it and can afford to keep it I would. All IMHO of course. Jon
  15. Can you MOT it? I think the 1 month MOT is the most off-putting issue. Jon
  16. Can I take the Weber Carbs Haynes manual please. Blatmail me your details 😬 Thanks, Jon
  17. Sold to a taxi driver from all the way up in Crewe (220 miles away ) 😬
  18. Thought I'd offer my car to Blatchatters first before prepping it for sale and advertising it more widely (at a higher price). I have bought a 5-series touring to suit our growing family. Album here Blatchatter exclusive: £3500 Oct 2004 '54' plate Skoda Octavia 2.0TDI 140ps 6-speed manual Elegance (Hi-Spec model) Hatchback (mk2 model based on Golf mk5). 95,000 miles, Full Service History, One Previous Owner. Good points: MOT until 21st October 2011, Serviced annually not on variable, Cambelt & waterpump replaced by Skoda at 69k, Good tread on all 5 tyres, 50+ mpg, good handling with indy rear suspension, very refined modern VAG 16v diesel. Bad points: Dented offside front wing, Scratch across rear bumper (still a very presentable car), service due shortly, hydraulic clutch could do with bleeding, 1 mismatched tyre. Car is located in Wimborne (East Dorset). Pics to follow. Jon Edited by - new cat on 13 Mar 2011 14:57:11 Edited by - new cat on 13 Mar 2011 15:01:07

  22. I replaced my 5" Caterham competition side exit exhaust on my X-flow (104 - 105db at 0.5m ) with a second hand 6" Techcraft with modified inlet (done by local motorsport/exhaust shop). At Castle Coombe the techcraft tested at 98db at 0.5m Jon

    megajolt

I'm pretty sure mine was running rich post-Megajolt and the carbs were adjusted accordingly. My basic understanding is that the car has to run rich at idle on a dizzy to prevent stalling with very low advance at idle speeds. With the megajolt you can set the advance however you like at idle and consequently can turn the mixture down. Feel free to strike me down in flames, this may be nonsense - just a basic recollection. Jon 1994 1.7 Supersprint De-dion X-Flow. Yellow with black cycle wings - Now with Megajolt !
  24. I'm looking for an end of the line X308 model Jaguar XJ8. Ideally I'm looking for a 4 litre but will consider a 3.2. The only real must have is sports seats. Looking for a pampered sensible mileage FSH car. Know of any for sale? 😬 Cash waiting.... Jon 1994 1.7 Supersprint De-dion X-Flow. Yellow with black cycle wings - Now with Megajolt !
