  1. Had an 18v Makita for almost exactly 2 years. Have not used it that heavily - just some DIY and fence repairs. Now, even with a fully charged battery and the motor screaming at full power it does not deliver any torque. What might have gone wrong? Are these generally feasibly repairable? (model 8391 dwpe - not hugely expensive to begin with but would have hoped it would have lasted a bit longer...) Many thanks, Jon
  2. Saturday 17th 3pm, saw you parked up, lots of decals on the car (including a Lotus 7 Club one)...
  3. He seemed a nice guy - funny that he still sounds like a Geordie in spite of living in France since 1981 or something!
  4. Nope, he's changed the wheels - these look sexier (had 15" on it when we sold it) and removed the roof rails. Jon
  5. Yup, thats funny. He's hardly looking for a fast buck though, probably assuming people will chip him down to £650... Can confirm that certainly when it left us it was a sound and solid car. The wheels are not original though, they replaced some wonderful metric TRX wheels! Jon
  6. Thanks very much guys, I have pm'ed Elie so should be sorted now Jon
  7. Thanks guys, your offer/s would save a lot of aggro 😬 I only need one side (lower eyelet rubber bush with metal outer insert for the smaller sized Bilstein which use 1.9ID springs), the other side came undone very cleanly. I have the inner aluminium sleeve which seems the right size. Could you pm me your details and what you would like in exchange Jon
  8. It seems there are 2 sleeves inside the front damper bottom eyelet rubber bush, an inner aluminium one (which I now have) and an outer steel one (which I don't have). Have any of you been able to source an outer steel sleeve for the bush? Sounds like we could get one made but an off the shelf one will clearly be much more cost effective. Thanks! Jon
  9. Perfect, thanks very much guys - just frustrating the Caterham denied on the phone that they sold the sleeves! Have had to put in a seperate online order for a couple. Jon
  10. Thank you, ordered the bushes from Caterham but have thus far been unable to source the aluminium centre sleeves. Have to hope I can resurrect the original sleeves. Jon
  11. I have the classic bottom bolt stuck in the damper bush issue on my 1994 x-flow and am wondering about the best way to proceed. A number of the options seem likely to shred or destroy the bush. I'm planning to call Redline in the morning but wandered whether any of you have recently successfully sourced a bush and if so where from. Many thanks, Jon
  12. Thank you, I have been forwarding your requests to Dave. If you would like any of these items please send your queries directly to Dave - his email and phone number are at the top of this thread. Jon
