  1. Hi Andrew, Is the Mini Cooper book by John Tipler still available? If so, yes please! Can you reply or blatmail what the total will be for regular mainland UK delivery. Thanks, Jon
  2. Thanks again guys, armed with this knowledge it proved a quick and easy fix! The washer nozzels required a good de-gunking too with a pin.
  3. Thanks guys, very helpful! Hopefully I'll get to this job very soon :) Jon
  4. Hi, My windscreen washer tubing is well and truly clogged up and needs replacing. Please can you advise what exactly I need to remove to gain access to the jet onto the windscreen end of the tube? I've never removed the scuttle or windscreen and simply don't have the time to go on a venture of discovery to find out how it is done, so thank you very much in advance for your guidance!
  5. Hi Ian, I could mess about with the discs - or just buy another pair for £24 including postage and VAT! The brakes were binding on the offside front wheel at certain points as it was turned by hand, we stuck it on the brake tester and at constant pedal pressure there was a notable spot on each rotation. On the road it doesn't drive/brake badly but would certainly be good to get more "pedal" and I'm pretty sure my master cylinder has not been touched in 21 years besides fluid changes.
  6. Thank you. Would be very useful to know which seals exactly to order - I'll need to speak to people after Easter now I suspect. Also, can anyone advise which master cylinders are likely to be compatible? Are the newer (described as 2007 onwards) cylinders usable on earlier cars without major modifications?
  7. Just passed an MOT with advisories on the front brakes. The standard discs appear to have warped causing the brakes to grab on every rotation. While I'm replacing the discs and pads, I thought it worthwhile trying to address the fact that the brakes have been pretty spongy for some time regardless of how much they are bled. I have stardard 1994 spec Girling brake cylinder, standard Triumph Spitfire discs and MGB535 M1144 pads. Is it worth trying to replace the seals? know the best place to get a service kit? Am I better trying to pick up a newer M/C? Anyone got one having upgraded? Many thanks, Jon
  8. Hi Mike, Sorry for my slow response. Could I possibly reserve the smallest of the bikes? I appreciate that this might already be in storage but I'm not in any great hurry. Please send me a PM if this is still possible and if you would like to be paid now. Many thanks, Jon
  9. BTTT - The price is not fixed and it would be good if it went to a good home this year Fabulous car, so sad I really can't use it any more. You find the perfect daily driver (having trialled an eclectic mix) and then have no place in your life for a daily driver ☹️
  10. Now with fresh MOT until 15 September 2015 BTTT 😬
  11. Beautiful Boxster would look great alongside my Cayman in anyone's garage 😬 Good luck with the sale! Edited by - New Cat on 29 Aug 2014 20:45:18
  12. Thanks Mark, unfortunately not really what I'm looking for I suspect (something high-backed for good posture working from home) but best of luck with the disposal. Jon
  13. Well the scooter has gone and CBR600F purchased and parking permit up on 31st September so time to sell the Porker... ☹️
  14. Great offer Mark what kind of chairs are they please? Thanks, Jon
  15. Pistonheads AD Great learner legal Honda 125cc scooter first registered 23 October 2013 (so still under manufacturers 2 year warranty). This model has the later, stronger and more efficient ESP engine with auto stop-start, a top speed of 70mph and up to 130 mpg economy! I've added a small Oxford digital clock with temperature and ice warnings (strangely there is no clock as standard) I'm selling as completing my direct access license I'm buying a 600cc motorbike. Light metallic blue, Full Service History, Data tagged, Owners manual and spare key. Only negatives are minor scratches on the offside fairing from a stationary drop by the previous owner. Are they a generous 32" waist? 😬 I usually wear 33 or 34" ☹️
  18. Sadly forced to sell my lovely Cayman because of the loss of my work parking permit - I'm going to have to resort to a mix of two-wheeled transport and parking a sheddy car on the deepest darkest back streets. I got this news while on holiday so have not prepared a formal advert yet but thought I would offer it here first. 2008 '08' Porsche Cayman 2.7 5-speed Manual Arctic Silver Full black leather heated seats Litronic Xenon Lights 19" Carrera 'S' Wheels (can also offer 17" Boxster II (summer) and 17" Cayman (winter) wheels and tyres by separate negotiation) Sound System Plus Rear Parking Sensors (factory Fit) Airbag Deactivation Switch & Isofix on passenger seat 33,408 miles Full service history (recent 6 year service in May at ex-OPC specialist, front vent grilles were added too following the removal and cleaning behind the front bumper). Interim oil change, front discs, pads, brake wear sensors and brake fluid last August. Photos and more details to follow. My daily driver but a lovely, well maintained example. £17,799 Email me or call / text: 0747 twofourzero 5554 Jon Edited by - new cat on 8 Aug 2014 21:17:55 Edited by - new cat on 9 Aug 2014 21:11:31
  19. A few people have recommended Vespas but they seem to cost siginificantlly more from their more plastic rivals, I'm not really planning on spending more than £1500 and want something that does not require tinkering. Top box to carry a laptop might be useful otherwise not too worried about storage.
  20. Looking for a decent 125cc automatic learner approved scooter. What have you? Thanks, Jon
  21. Thanks very much John, no not trunnions! I'll take a look tonight, try to see if I'm looking at the right build manual. I'm fairly sure that I don't currently have a nyloc nut on there for one thing.
  22. Yes I found one of those and it talks about spring washers and spacers but doesn't give many other details. It also talks about a torque setting of 60 lbft. Sound reasonable? Does it has any sort of locking nut? Should it be locktited? Thanks
  23. Hi, During my MOT we noticed that the front lower wishbone inside rear bolt was a little loose. This is the bolt that attaches the wishbone to the chassis beneath the oil filter (x-flow) under the nose cone. The car is a 1994 De-dion X-flow. I would like to confirm what washers / locking nuts etc should be there and what the torque setting should be. Many thanks, Jon Edited by - new cat on 27 Apr 2014 13:39:00
