    Please

Indeed Rob With hindsight I should of looked at buying it, could of saved myself a fortune on the race car diversion I'm still working on

Hi Steve, Just a thought at this stage, but there is a possibility I will be needing a larger trailer for next years race plan's 😳 At that point my BJ Shuttle will be up for sale. Its a hydraulic tilter in excellent condish, with a modified tyre rack & underfloor giving loads of additional storage.
  6. Defo not the same engine, it's still installed in the Chiron car out in Oz giving and I quote "amazing acceleration" The origional Cosworth engine gave less than 250bhp with an undrivable torque curve but they are chuffed to bits with the SBD motor. What spec was yours and what was promised and what did it deliver then Pen?
  7. Pendennis, I had an email from the owners telling me that figure but as they were in Oz at the time the dyno run was carried out over here he could well be misguided 😳 What did it / yours make 🤔 Was yours the 290+spec 🤔
  8. I'm now aware of a 296bhp SBD 2ltr Duratec thatsbeing used in a Chiron sports prototype. It was fitted to replace a disappointing under performing Cosworth supplied motor....
  9. Reason being that one of the cars I'm considering uses the Honda with a bespoke billet low profile drysump, used as a stressed part to mount components too. That's in 250bhp format to comply with speed series CN rules. Hence re-engineering for a Duratec would be a major expense, they tell me the Honda engine can be tuned to 300bhp by a company called Clockwise Motion handily based about 10 miles away from home. Having spoken to the owner who came across as a decent guy & very knowledgeable with inhouse manufacturing of many components I feel pretty confident but wondered if anyone here had any direct experience with tuning the Honda motors they could pass on to re-assure me it will all be alright
  10. Not for a 7 would be for a sport prototype race car, but wondered if anyone here had information on what sort of reliable power can be wrung out of the 2ltr Honda motor & if so by whom?

    Duratec 2ltr 300bhp

Cheers guys, plenty to be going on there Just the tricky task remains of getting hold of the car to put it in

    Duratec 2ltr 300bhp

That's not really for me Rob. The car I'm trying to get my hands on is a LOT higher quality item, a proper bespoke race car, however its looking like a forlorn chase at the moment

    Duratec 2ltr 300bhp

Hi Mike, yes I know that making sure the vital fluids are all taken care of properly is super critical in the jewel like super fine tolerance bike based motors, been there got the T shirt 😳 I have had a top(ish!) spec Busa 7 for years & its great on the short duration hill's & sprints, the engine of choice However for circuit racing despite my few years of more or less trouble free Radical racing experience I would still prefer the added robustness of a production based tuned car motor, that is unless I'm not paying, have a team running the car for me with a spare free issue motor or two in the back of the truck 😬

    Duratec 2ltr 300bhp

Mike I wouldn't really NEED more than 260bhp to be very competitive but 300bhp would be nicer under the right foot if it does comes to fruition 😬 What I definitely would not want is a boat load of hassle that the small bike derived engines often seem to be for competition use One of the cars that I'm looking at currently runs a bike derived V8 (not sure but think its a RST) & has been nothing but trouble in this installation despite having spent a fortune on it for a number of years now, its currently burning a lot of oil......
