  1. I used a solar trickle charger for a while - while it worked.... Certainly the cheaper ones are not up to being exposed to the elements and perhaps only work for any length of time behind a windscreen and under a roof. Disconnecting the battery to remove the drain on it when you leave the car would probably be a good first measure.
  2. Met a guy at Cars on Poole Quay night selling his Westfield SEI. A real polishers car and in extraordinarily good condition. 1995 Westfield SEI (wide body) in British Racing Green. Factory Built. SPA Limited Edition. 1600 Ford Kent X-Flow with S2 head & twin 40 Weber Carbs. S/S Exhaust. Spax adjustable dampers. Quick rack. Full Weather Gear. 19,000 miles. £5,900 OVNO. Based in North Dorset. Call Jason on 01725 553 168 for further info or to view the car.
  3. Hi Steve, Blatmail me your email and I'll take some decent pics and email you them over the weekend. Thanks, Jon
  4. Sorry, all my references are to the X-flow. There aren't many off the shelf solutions for this on the good old Ford Kent unfortunately....
  5. Hi Guys! MRA Minis are your guys! They will make the plug to any spec you want. I've used an A+ Series Dizzy plug as shown here, held in place with the original clamp from my Bosch distributor. The hole diagmeter is the same as an A Series. http://www.mra-minis.co.uk/engine.htm Prices are very reasonable as you can see. If you want them to make one to your spec then best t ospeak to Martin Altria on 07789 872368 or by email martin@mra-minis.co.uk Hope that helps. Jon
  6. *thumbup* Maybe some offers before the weather persuades me its time to seriously advertise this?
  7. At last a spotted spotted 😬 I will have my Caterham at the office on Friday 😬 ahead of the Wightblat. Jon
  8. Saw you as I stepped out of the office, an H-reg dark pastel grey blue - a Zetec engined car we see sometimes at The Weld Arms? Jon

  10. Didn't take in many details... I was half asleep in the tintop but was surprised to see a Caterham coming towards me in the Bournemouth direction. Jon
  11. A friend of mine is looking for a smallish (focus size or smaller) commuting car for under £3k. He would prefer something newer, comfortable and not intergalactic mileage. I think the likes of the mk2 Nissan Almera fit the bill (he's no enthusiast!)as their lack of trendiness or image means they're good value if a little rare. WHY?! Jon
  12. I'd take the credit if I were you Jason, IMHO the lack of demand for 14" wheels or ZV3 tyres means they won't fetch anything like that secondhand. Having said that, I find 14" wheels generally nicer on the road (with Yoko A021R tyres on) so maybe its worth having them for touring and investing in a set of 13" for hooning and trackdays? I'd still change the tyres though...
  13. Thanks Richard, I'd already printed myself a copy of that diagram. What is meant by "dressing" of the wing? Do you use nylon bolts with your rawlnuts?
  14. Thanks guys, I've ordered some rawlnuts from Eliseparts and some M5 screws, nuts and washers from modelfixings.com (seem very competitive). I did this after reading a few horror stories about the damage that can be done when rawlnuts rip out - hopefully the nylon bolts will break first! Has anyone successfully used rawlnuts with nylon bolts? Jon
  15. I have removed the remains of one of my rear wings and have found all 3 rivnuts have pulled out and made the skin holes a little bigger. Reading old threads it seems maybe rawnuts may be the best replacement? Please can you advise me as to what to order assuming I can get the holes back to little bigger than standard size and where to get them from (speedy delivery would be very helpful). Many thanks, Jon 1994 1.7 Supersprint De-dion X-Flow. Yellow with black cycle wings - Now with Megajolt !
  16. Grab yourself a bargain Mercedes 230CE Coupe Auto on ebay here Auction ends at 8.04pm Tommorow. Good luck! Jon
  17. Thanks very much for the tip Julian, I'll try to give them a call tommorow. Have to say their cars look rather out of this car's league with some W124 coupes at asking prices of up to £17k!!! (gorgeous though). Maybe they'll know someone who might be interested though, its far from perfect but a pretty well maintained car.
  18. New lower price for Blatchatters.....see top posting
  19. Sale ends tommorow Ebay item number 290194873365
  20. The original 'buyer' got himself bargain of the year and then proceeded to mess me around on 4 separate occasions. He refused to firm up any arrangements to collect the car and then consistently cancelled plans to pick the car up at short notice - after I'd cancelled other plans. I told him he had run out of chances and have filed an unpaid item dispute - he has accepted this. If he'd paid top dollar I might of been more understanding, but I didn't sell a car for a pittance to be messed around. Hopefully this time it will go to a Blatchatter
  21. This is way too cheap! A real bargain for somebody....
