If I could collect it from you in central london one day (anytime of day for me) that would be great, saves postage hassles too...

Providing its in good condition then yes please! Where are you? What about postage? Thanks Jon
  4. If you can get any money off / back for having the car supplied without the ZV3s and/or have an option on 13" wheels I'd probably take it. I've switched my ZV1s for Yoko A021s and they're far more confidence inspiring.
  5. Coming towards me in my yellow x-flow at around 4.30pm this afternoon. GF also saw you out towards Iver Heath "driving rather quickly 😬" Well I presume it was you, also in a red seven at a similar time.
  6. When asking about what diff oil to use, Phil (R&R) supplied me with one litre of plate type lsd diff oil (a Ford part for LSD equipped Capris I believe) which wasn't quite enough, so down to Fords for a second litre of the same for around £8. I think as soon as its full it will start coming out the filler hole anyway and any excess will just come out beneath the boot floor through the breather.
  7. Some MOT test stations have rollers for 4X4 cars with locking diffs. I beleive these should be fine for an LSD equiped car and have never heard any untoward grating sounds when mine has been brake tested on 4X4 rollers.
  8. My Caterham passed its MOT only a week or so ago with only a visible smoke test (1994 kit built X-flow). However, the car was never built as intended and the vin plate is for a 1.4 K-series powered race car! Wonder if anyone else is going to face VIN plate related issues with the new test, I'm sure there are others with VIN plates that bare no relation to the actual car.
  9. Just today had my "Visible Smoke Test" 😬 X-Flow MOT tested at a very careful and seven friendly garage in Windsor who also have 4X4 rollers for LSD equiped cars (Blatmail me for details - rather risk getting them in trouble) and in spite of being computerised, they were not expecting to cat test any Sevens. They remained adament that all Caterhams would only be subject to visible smoke tests and/or they had ways of getting round it.
  10. Well done! In 2 years of ownership I've never been spotted ☹️
  11. Hi Ian, were you running 15w50 Mobil 1 before switching to Valvoline 20w50?
  12. Thanks guys, looks like some good old fashioned brute force is required... oooohh the German engineering!
  13. The battery in my 1994 5-series saloon (E34 model) has well and truly died but I'm damned if I can locate it or remove it. I believe it is under the fixed backseat of the car but have no clue how to lift the backseat nore remove it. I'll check some BM forums too, but you guys are far better! 😬 Anyone know how its done? Thanks.
  14. Was far too embarrassed to wave in my fiance's little miss naughty themed red escort 😳
  15. 1st Dibs on the hood bag please. How much will the postage be? Jon
  16. Thanks for all the tips guys. As to whether or not I could carry all the tyres in the seven, I'd rather not be driving it on potentially snowy roads anyway. Unwanted sideways action on Boxing Day is a big reason for the change
  17. I need to put the seven on 4 axle stands for the first time (without expert support) on Saturday morning to get new tyres (no room in the seven to bring back the old ones). Having checked the 7FAQ and all the Techtalk history I still couldn't find anything conclusive about where to place each of the 4 axle stands - unfortunately I don't keep the car at home so its hard to visualise. I notice on 7FAQ it recommends putting the front axle stands as far to the outer edge of the crossbar as possible - but others on here have said not to jack the car here or put any pressure near the crossbar (only the towing point). What is considered the most chassis friendly way of axle standing the whole car please
  18. I have an undamped VDO fuel gauge at present on my twin carb X-flow powered car. Will a new style "Caterham" branded" gauge work without changing the sender on the fuel tank? Thanks
  19. I've had a ZF fitted to my 1.7 x-flow supersprint (approx 135bhp) for 6 or 7 months. I sent it to Phil and Road & Race for adjusted ramp angles and find on my road biased (quite soft set up car on avon zv1s at the moment) it offers no extra noise / clunkyness, massively higher grip levels and no discernable understeer, just far less wasteful wheel spin out of junctions especially and a much better planted car. FYI: I got mine in exchange for my open diff + cash from one of the ex-Roadsport A guys wishing to switch to Raodsport B.
  20. I have a number of vintage Star Wars figures and vehicles on ebay. Re-live your childhood and take a look http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZn0nsenseQQhtZ-1 There are also a couple of Triumph bits on this list.
  21. FYI: These guys are the brand new VW / AUDI trim gurus, especially for the modern classic GTIs etc. http://www.gpcvwaudi.com/
  22. I have an Amiga 500 computer and a large variety of games, a mouse, sound sampler joysticks, system disk and manuals to go with it. The Amiga itself appears to have a (minor I believe) disk drive fault but eveything else is in working order. I suspect its quite easy to fix but have not attempted it myself... There is a spare disk drive somewhere too. Also there are a few old pc games (Sim City 2000, Theme Park among others). There is also a box of seemingly unused 5.25" double sided, double density disks (must be hard to come by these days). I can't be bothered with the hassles of putting this lot on ebay and am happy for it to go for a modest (or large if you're feeling generous) NtL donation. Only proviso is it must be collected, this could be London, South Bucks area or Poole, Dorset at a mutually convenient time. Blatmail me for further details.
  23. Looking on behalf of my sister in law for a 2001 - 2003 Honda Civic 5dr, manual, 1.6 litre, FSH, good overall condition. Please Blatmail me any offers. Thanks.
  24. Some joker on Bloomberg (city trader system) wants offers in the region of £3000 for the registration PEP 777 I only know this because I made a cheeky offer and he asked me to add another £2750... 😬 What do you think its worth? (and please don't say what someone is prepared to pay!!! )
