  1. I have a 5 speed with 3.9, mine is a race car and consistent with the race car regs for the class it raced in Open diff, just rotate the prop shaft and count the wheel rotations Cheers Ian
  2. NTDWM but it may be of use to someone.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/Caterham-Exhaust-manifold-and-repackable-Harvey-exhaust-K-series-Cars/282196173980?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&_trksid=p5197.c100068.m2280&_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140211130857%26meid%3Dd03d81319ed5409e8d2b5fc827540764%26pid%3D100068%26clkid%3D8558743677072735225&_qi=RTM2063723 Cheers Ian
  3. Hi Marcus Nice to meet you at Gaydon yesterday. Here is another race cap with the warning switch, but not sure if it will fit you reservoir: http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=1714 With the new speedometers, I think if you press and hold the trip reset long enough it should bring up the option to calibrate, get the true versus indicated speed ratio and adjust accordingly.... Cheers Ian
  4. And the eBay LSD sold for.....£1,112.00....
  5. Channels are held on by two nuts, the nuts and scuttle are held by two threaded rods that come out of the top of the chassis rail. Cheers Ian
  6. Is it wrong to think about selling the Caterham to build one of these......?
  7. I would think that it could be either, just depends on the mechanical ratios....I've just done a Duratec and used a Helix Clutch as well, but not as serious as your set up. You'll need to look at the clutch finger as well to get the appropriate release bearing, are the clutch finger straight or curly at the end? Cheers Ian
  8. What did it fail on...and did it pass the emissions? Cheers Ian
  9. Hi there Anyone got a spare set? Cheers Ian
  10. I'm liking the idea of pneumatic extractor to fit on my compressor..... here
  11. The issue that I can see is that the union is closed up onto the nut, I would want to see a bit of a gap so the clamping force is all on the pipe and not onto the nut. Yes this has either been caused be over tightening the union, the extra washers, or a combination of both. I'd refit with less washers to ensure a gap between the union and the nut. cheers Ian
  12. What spec is your engine?
  13. I think around 140-150hp is the sweet spot for Caterhams for on the road and bit of fun on the track, having had 120hp, 150hp and now around 200hp.... My Duratec will drive from around 25-30mph in 5th all the way up (5 speed with 3.9 Diff), so very docile when you want it to be.....followed by a good amount of power if you want it! Cheers Ian
  14. Always been curious about the locked MBE ECUs, are you even locked out to reloading the firmware? I appreciate all the Maps would be gone along win the sensor configurations etc..... But at least it could then be retuned from scratch?
  15. Yes a leak will affect this as fresh air will be pulled in and effect the reading, a hot Cat is also needed, cold and it will probably fail. cheers Ian

    HPC BDR

I've got to say the BDR looks magnificent
  17. Thanks for the pics..just sent a blatmail. Cheers Ian
  18. Is the fast clicking when you are trying to turn the engine over, if so its the starter solenoid, is is due to a big drop in voltage from the starter, so much that it can't hold the solenoid open, then from there it then oscillates. Reasons are - flat battery, or fault in starter....the re seems to be some relationship here between the alternator and battery. i'd charge the battery and then it should start, then check the battery voltage with the engine off and with it running and post the results here. cheers Ian
  19. I'd be interested in the hood bag please, can you send me a pic. I'll send a blatmail. Thanks Ian
  20. Would be interested too.....will send mail update...just discovered another couple of wheels that I'd forgotten about so I can't justify more wheels....oops....good buy for someone.... cheers Ian
  21. I've got a dash2, as long as you know the voltage / resistance curves from the existing sensors, you can programme the dash2 for any sensor. cheers Ian
  22. Hi Ed £250 is the asking price. Cheers Ian
  23. NTWM, just in case anyone is looking for one: http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/34/viewthread.php?tid=205275 Cheers Ian
