Hi, I am selling on my 13inch anthracite 8 spoke wheels, wide rear, narrower front, standard Caterham package and set up with CR500s, Caterham price is £850 for a new set, these have less than a 1000k on them since new so will offer them at £700 and I really hope you can pick them up from Cambridge or maybe meet half way.... Oh I should say I have done NO track days on these wheels and tyres and most of the driving has been running up and down the A1. Reason for selling: About to swap to my winter all season tyres that are on 15inch rims and have upgraditus on the engine side so looking for funds..... Hi Bozz, I have a powerspeed 4-2-1 exhaust which camcoat did a full covering on inside and out... (well as much as is possible...), the exhaust is fantastic taking me from 138 to 142bhp and giving a 10% increase in torque across the board.... lucky enough to dyno and curry at emerald before and after upgrade...... The coating looks great, keeps cool to the touch so no burnt legs for your passenger as they hop in or out..... as for performance I couldn't say. I must admit I have had problems with the ceramic flaking off, it seems as though they may have put it on a bit thick..... but havn't had the opportunity to head up towards Warrington for them to take a look.... very happy having had it done though.... and big big fan of powerspeeds exhaust, get them to fit it they do a fantastic job, really tidy hole...... Nifty YHM It amazes me at how expensive throttle bodies are for what they are, and there really is very little choice out there..... there has to be a gap in the market for somebody to start producing an alternative to the jenvey or current Caterham RB solution...... VHPDs how good are they for everyday road use and how do they rate against a similarly ported standard k engine.... (non vvc)? The Powerspeed 4-2-1 was part of a bulk buy recently with a stream of very happy BC customers, especially since completing a before and after run on Dave Walkers rolling road, +4Bhp and 10% increase in Torque with a lovely graph showing the two runs....... If you get Dave to fit it, he'll do a really tidy job when it comes to the hole cutting part...... they also made me up a 4-1 section to allow me to connect my old Caterham exhaust with silencer for when the first MOT comes around...... Try this here ok it might need a bit of modification and a few carbon replacements....... 😬 should be able to get it below 400kg easily..... not sure you are going to get much BHP per tonne out of it though... Can I just say {Rant On} 'I hate dot fasteners!!!!' damn things are a pain to use whether putting them on or taking them off and they never last very long even when you buy new crimping type tools to ensure a better fit....... aghhhhh!!!! {Rant Off} Has anyone discovered a replacement fastener that works better and is more reliable...? Hi Tim, My suggestion is to get a build diary that has lots of photo's in many cases you just need a sanity check that something looks right... the rest of the build is really straight forward....... Enjoy!!! The manual is great and Caterham telephone support will are always there..... standard bit of advice is 'check your parts lists' the A4 bolt packs are usually pretty accurate but some of the bags can sometimes have bits missing or the wrong type..... there is nothing more frustrating on a Friday to find that the next bit you wanted to do over the weekend has to go on hold because you have a bush missing...... 😬 God I want to build another one just thinking about it..........!!!! Is the law just emissions or is there a requirement the new cars are fitted with a CAT?

I was under the impression that the FIA bar was slightly higher than the standard roll over bar, it certainly makes a tighter fit when/if you try and put a roof on...... but that could just be the angle as it tilts slightly forward...... Jingers, It may be computerised in the future but with something like emissions there is nothing to say which exhaust the reading was taken from..... it should still come down to a friendly MOT centre...... I'm currently on the BB for powerspeeds 4-2-1 exhausts no CAT but am getting my current exhaust fitted with a 4-1 collector to swap in.... come MOT time in a couple of years... then I am sure it will be a case of 'hello Mot person, look you can either pass it or I can go home spend some time and bruised knuckles swapping this in for you to re-test' Smile sweetly 😬 Someone tried to convince me that if I got stopped without a CAT that they could confiscate my car..... I suitably ignored them, but it was something to do with spot checks.... my comment was.... 'Well if the Police want a nice collection of 7's they would just need to hang out side any of the 7 events this year and pick as many as they wanted off...' 😬 Anybody got a better understanding of the likelyhood of this...? Midnight, Avon CR500s - you really can't go wrong with them for touring or the odd track day - they will do around 12-15k depending on how you treat them, although road noise gets a bit loud when the tread gets low.... They are not too bad in the wet although standing water makes for some happy sliding aquaplanning tail action..... Winter tyres by the way gents...I have the answer... Goodyear eagle vector EV-2's absolutely amazing, good performance in dry conditions, amazing in the wet (cruised at 100mph in standing water no problem amazing) and outstanding in the snow..... who needs a 4x4!!! Just been skiing in the seven and these things took my breath away...... not sure how long they will last in hotter weather even if they are meant to be an all season tyre.... pop along to Halfrauds and get some of their 'Rain-off' stuff.... excellent I often drive through rain without using the windscreen wipers at all..... Do you even have doors? I have just driven back from Les Arcs in the seven, and had the joy of rain all the way but refused to put the roof up, fool I am, the rain-off even avoided the need of the cloth..... but with doors it only gets really bad in a cloud burst or when there are lots of lorries and heaps of standing water... I started with Bighead fastners but didn't use the setting compound for the windscreen black stuff.... then went down to the hardware store (Mackays in Cambridge) and bought the heaviest weight adhesive they had - I think it quoted around 300kg+ (it could have even been a 1000kg) some crazy over the top figure anyway... cleaned up the wings and stays and went for it... I have not had any issues through sun, snow, wind, speed or rain..... I would suggest removing and starting again though if one has failed the rest will surely follow... Hi Ozzy, Check the clearance of the exit pipe to the exit hole, I have found that mine has dropped slightly and is nicely re-shaping the hole..... took me a while to work out what the noise was..... I just need to bend the bracket north a little to reset it..... The other one I had was the bolt on the rear bracket that screws into the chassis coming loose this also generated a lovely rattle sound..... Has anyone every created a Caterham 'Rattle/funny noise library'? it has taken me ages to work some of them out.... the squeaky wiring behind the dash board was the most frustrating..... 😬 David ps Good hunting!!!! 😬 GF04RCE is built running and on the road.... every day is a Caterham day!!!! Hi, I am about to upgrade to a 4-2-1 exhaust (bulk buy with powerspeed) what are the options for including a cat and would I be losing some of the benefits of the upgrade by including this, instead of just keeping my current exhaust for future MOTs?
