  1. A question for all of you who have received letters from CC. Were your cars supplied with BMW diffs fitted as part of the original supply or were any of them retro fitted by CC or yourselves? My reason for asking is that I haven't yet received any notification from CC but have been advised that because my car was a retrofit by CC, these will follow on from the list of new cars first and then the retrofits. I'd be interested to hear if any of your letters apply to retrofit.
  2. I'm still waiting,I'll give them another day then make contact.
  3. Thought this thread needed bringing back to the top to show CC we are still waiting for a response

  5. Let us hope so and thanks for your perseverence.
  6. I don't think so, they appear to be formulating the best approach for us none Academy cars, fitted with the first design of carrier i.e. with the full bolts and not the countersunk type on the later carriers. CCM were very quick in responding to my email yesterday so perhaps clarification will be forthcoming.
  7. As I mentioned above I was going to email CCM today and in response I had a call from them advising CC are aware of the situation and as they have my name on their list either from my email or from their records, will be contacting me hopefully within the next few weeks following their review of the problem. I strongly suggest that anyone with the early diff carrier (prominent bolt heads) makes sure they are included to receive the response when it comes.
  8. It bothers me somewhat that this thread is drifting down the page when a solution has not been forthcoming. I posted a thread earlier to report my diff and carrier were OK, all bolts tight, but at the start of my pre winter checks I have just removed the boot floor and directly under the top nearside bolthead there is a slight indentation in the brake line. So whilst I can't prove it was the bolthead it is a worry. I am going to let CCM know what I've found and will report back.
  9. On-line build manual says top hole for the rear radius arm and CCM fitted my BMW diff to the top hole. When I built the car in 2010 with the Ford diff that manual said the top hole.
  10. Following my last post on the 8th I have checked and all is well, all bolts tight and no sign of damage. Incidentally the carrier is of the old type with the full bolt heads and not countersunk, but I will still pay close attention to it in future.
  11. Any news or do I go out and buy my own?
  12. Have been following this thread with interest as I had a BMW diff fitted by CCM last October. My car is a 2010 Classic and as such has none adjustable rear shocks so the back of the car has always appeared to be higher than most, which I put down to adjustable shocks. I would be interested to hear all those of you with damage to the DD tube, carrier, brake line etc are you using the standard fixed or adjustable shock. I'm working on the premise that a lower suspension setting to start with will bring DD tube, diff etc closer before any suspension movement begins. I'll be checking mine over tomorrow and will comment on any findings. Bill
  13. I fitted a race master cylinder cap, Caterham part no. 77175, no more problems. Just remember that the low fluid warning light no longer works and you will need to refit the original for MOT's.
  14. You have more mail Bill
  15. I used something like 5/6mm thick rubber sheet with a nylon mesh sandwiched between the rubber to prevent it from tearing. It needs to be firm so that it doesn't just bend back at speed. If you cut it wide enough so that it curves round the profile of the wing, this also helps to keep it in the right position. I had already drilled my wings so simply fitted it between the wing and the stay. Well worth doing but the odd chip is innevitable. Cheers Bill
