  1. Check the earth by running a separate wire from the earth tab on the indicator to an existing earth point on the chassis. If indicator works the fault lies with the original earth wire.

  5. Hi Paul and James, if either of you still need a pair of 4point Caterham harnesses with the black badges as shelleyb's, I have a pair that came with a late 2010 car and only used for the first 12 months so in an "as new"condition. They come complete with all fixings. If interested please BM me. cheers Bill
  6. Just picked up a second hand Apollo tank and hoses etc. and have a couple of questions re fitting. Do I need a dowty washer or similar on the magnetic drain plug at the bottom of the tank (it didn't come with one) and are the hoses the same length for a metric chassis installation (on the centre line of the chassis) and an imperial installation (on the alternator side). I will be fitting it to a metric chassis.
  7. Hi Albert, I have a spare submarine pipe with the flattened section in perfect condition if you need one. PM me. Cheers Bill

  15. Morning all, I have just changed a dodgy 88deg thermostat with a modified 82deg one (ie drilled 2.5 mm hole at the top) and at the same time fitted silicone hoses. I did the routing mod to the hoses sometime ago and have a bleed tee fitted in the top heater hose. The new hoses are thicker than the originals and the bottom hose from the rad is pressing down on the front chassis cross member deforming it. I know I can raise the rad using the lower set of mounting holes to clear the cross member but that got me thinking. If I raised the rad, will the change in relative heights of the header tank, top of radiator, bleed tee etc. have any bearing on the effectiveness of the cooling system or is it just a case of making sure the coolant is up to the mark on the header tank and there is no air in the system. Bill
  16. Steve T and MrP, Thanks for your comments, just thought I'd get them a bit cheaper.
  17. Hi Dave, Regrettably I will have to pass as the mounting on a metric chassis is a single grub screw in the mounting boss and not the two bolts show in the photo and as such which will be insufficient. Cheers Bill
