  1. I had a local company in Ipswich called Demand Engineering/Longlife Ipswich add some pipework and a rear silencer to the already excellent Powerspeed system I had, as well as repack the Powerspeed silencer using their materials and techniques. Powerspeed 24" x7" side silencer by itself was 97dB, with Acousta-Fil Boa inside 94dB and now with the DE-repacked Powerspeed silencer and rear silencer it is 89dB, all at just over 5000rpm on a 230bhp 1.9K. I found that static tests were never a problem with the Powerspeed system alone. Just when barely thinking about using the loud pedal, I got chucked off the circuits. Cost was an incredibly reasonable £300 for a morning's work. Here's my trackday heap: http://www.mankee.plus.com/DemandEng.jpg PS. Demand Engineering did the manifolds and exhaust system for Guy Martin's Transit van in the latest Speed series. I tell everyone this because I'm proud of the top-notch local companies in East Anglia that appeared in the programme.
  2. Seeing as you're in Kent, try Boss Racing down at Brands Hatch. I'm sure I've mentioned Boss to someone on Blatchat recently, it may have been yourself. Can't remember!
  3. Amazing! Thanks, Mark. I'd actually sent the other Mark (ben2) a message about the fan he was selling for more information on it. Don't worry, I'm not poaching it from you. Cheers.
  4. Hi Neil. VA07 is the 9" version and VA09 is the 11" version. I specifically need the full Spal part number.
  5. Does anyone have the part number for the larger 11" radiator fan fitted to K-series SLRs and/or racers, please? It's a Spal VA09 but need full part number if possible. This one here: http://caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=383 Cheers!
  6. Probably been answered in Chit Chat already, but it'll be £69.99 when released in October.
  7. Yep, we definitely did that before re-installing the engine.
  8. Hi Simon, that would be grand, thanks! I'll drop you a message.
  9. Try Boss Racing if in Kent.
  10. The gauge Neil found is a fuel level one, so I'm still on the lookout for a water temperature gauge. Either sort will do now.
  11. I think it will do, but I can't be certain as I ran with reduced revs for the rest of that day. Best ways to find out for definite are to do back-to-back power runs with and without or just try it and see if you can feel a difference with the bum dyno.
  12. Sounds like this one, that also lives in your neck of the woods: https://www.lotus7.club/forum/spotted/my-620r-s-thame
  13. Hello Richard. My 1.9K runs the "normal" AP Racing cover and drive plate with seemingly no slip issues. Ks and Crossflows share the same clutches. I was going to go down the Helix paddle route but the new engine came with the AP clutch, which seems to be taking a decent amount of abuse so far. http://www.helix-autosport.com/products/performance-clutches/caterham/ http://www.performanceclutch.co.uk/p0/16ltr-k-series-eng/232529.htm

    Brake Judder

I had some mad brake judder through the wheel once. Turned out to be a loose lower wishbone rear fixing. Replaced the lot with new nylocs. Never a problem since. Bit of an unlikely cause of brake judder, but there is an outside chance nonetheless.
