  1. Hey, my spot was heading toward Pateley Bridge, that makes 3 of us in Yorkshire today!
  2. This afternoon enjoying the Sunshine.
  3. Suppose it depends how much you are trying to fill in but for small chips in the paintwork I usually touch up from my 4+ year old pot using a plastic toothpick (brushes don't work). After smoothing it as close to surface level as you can give it about 8 hours to 'dry' then use a clean cloth and polish out to flatten. I've seen some rear wings that look like they've got goosebumps. Edited, spelling is getting no better. Edited by - Beverlonian on 31 Mar 2012 15:22:46
  4. PPG, great service, supplied for rear wings, front wing tips, door bottoms and front bonnet springs, someohow managed to get some extra bits to make my own 'door cheeks' for where the door rotates onto the scuttle. Fitted myself.... patience.... patience . Rear wings were the most difficult. If you really want to cut down of chaffe? fit some front flaps. OOOO ERR! Fit with a few big heads so you can take them off when your feeling risky. 3 years in and near perfect, but I am a polisher Andy
  5. Sorry to see you have some work to do.... my spill came from a failure of the seam between the body and top on the battery leaving this. CC had never seen it before, I'm glad I did before I ended up with holes in the frame. Hope you get sorted out soon. Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  6. Hi, might be few here of some 'interest' Nearly there! Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  7. You got it in yet? Usually a few hours break and it all goes together OK. I remember a bit of a struggle but I took the casting seams off the inside of the bolt holes then it was just a damn good 'jiggle' with bolts that were filed with a good lead on them, they were plenty long enough. If your still struggling after that gently lever the diff in the right direction off one of the tubes. The rubber bush will give first! Good Luck Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  8. Hi Andrew, as said on previous post there are probably a dozen ways to do it and mine might not be the best but worked for me. I just put the front end on axle stands, made a couple of clamps up for the hoses and sealed them off before removing the radiator. When the new one went on I fitted the bottom hose and slowly filled the radiator from the top then unclamped the bottom hose. Top hose was refitted and the clamp released I topped the last bit of the rad/top hose through the bung at the top expansion tank. A bit of a massage and that was about it. Not so much of a faff as it sounds here's a pic Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  9. Hi, there are others but here's my record of the SVA flap removal. 😬 Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  10. Hi Garth, I adjusted that little screw to bring the revs up then read all about throttle position sensors etc so moved it back to where it came from. I have to hold mine on the throttle for about a minute from cold then all is well. Hope you get some help, your not the only one left wondering. 2 years+ in and I've just accepted it as a quirk. Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  11. Does this help? here Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  12. Hi tbird, I know I'm on the wrong side of the polishing to driving ratio but the mudflaps do make a big difference. Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  13. May have copied Ian, but this is the dirty side, jetpress fasteners and tigerseal on minehere SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  14. Only my opinion but I think the SVA / IVA is a just another part of the build. Seems like people are hesitant just because they haven't done it before and don't know whats going to happen. I wouldn't say it was fun but wasn't bad either. Definately recommend the PBC, at least you have the confidence of going into it with as much support as Caterham can give. Must admit its awkward when you don't live near Caterham or Leicester but I got to there by fitting a towbar and electrics for about £120 and hired a trailer for £55. Take a bag of spanners with you to IVA in case they want anything adjusting and Bobs your uncle. There is a God... for me the test centre is only a mile away 😬 SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  15. Martin, I'll second the load leveller from Machine Mart. If you can make a job easy for a few pounds then do it. here SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  16. ? .....looks like I never left SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.

  18. Well done Simon looks like a good job. VERY SHINY! Lardy Aztec Orange 'n' Black
  19. Hi Shad, I used the Halfords products and was very reluctant to 'sand' my orange so it was dull before overcoating with clear lacquer. Jeez it came out good.. Must be the first time I've both read and followed the instructions (Engineer and all that) and it worked really well. Poor me another hic... 😬
  20. Just to throw in my thoughts. I used 221 to stick the wings and they are still stuck solid (also have work experience of it holdin up in a harsh atmospheric environment. Lately I bought the tigerseal as there was no sika available and it seems good too. My only comment about the tigerseal is that its anti-sag properties aren't so good. Terostat 9220, had the guy from henkel in to advise on bonding two metal elements together and this is what he recommended. Sampled OK but went for the sika alternative There, that covers everything so far 😬 Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  21. Another 200 miles and only one spot, was it you? Viper Blue with Silver Stripe. Near Nidd Andy 😬 SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  22. Bright shiny box on the bulkhead passenger side footwell...immobiliser? Maybe the open top box goes over it to take away the 'sharp' edges. I put some of the sticky back foam over mine to make it 'safe'. Just a thought. Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  23. It can be done neatly and mine have hung on for 3500 miles, preperation is the 'key' to success here Andy SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
  24. I'm going to come clean I've had 46mpg out of mine I know..... I'll get my coat. SV in Aztec Orange 'n' Black.
