  1. Only snag might be DVA's queue.... But it's good when you get to the front
  2. FWIW - are the prop's nipples greased? Caused similar symptoms for me. (if you can read that and not snigger here post something funny/smutty/engaging in chitchat please. It's dull when we're mostly out driving over there)
  3. Following DVA's upgrade I have a few items that are now no longer required and a large hole in the wallet to fill. Prices are a bit of a guess so if you're interested but think I'm at the wrong price point please let me know. Prices do not include postage. - 4no VVC Trophy (160 BHP) fuel injectors. £25 - Piper BP270 exhaust cam £100 SOLD - VVC alloy air intake manifold and plenum £25 SOLD Thanks - 48mm throttle body, previously modified by DVA to remove 'anti stall' lip so gives better response and overall better air flow (but only just) £25 - a bag of VVC mechs that I would not recommend go back in an engine but are interesting if you like that sort of thing. Replaced as worn. Free to a good home.
  4. Furniture polish works wonders on the sides screens but never tried it on the main screen. Maybe worth a go? Hope all good out there with you Ben!
  5. I've done the same but with no modifications - remove headrest and tuck the vertical part of the tonneau inside the door with only the poppers across the dash and top harness mounting points attached. However. When doing same with half doors and aero I lost the tonneau upwards never to be seen again. One idea is a loop inside to fit the seat belt/harness through to hold it down better but other things higher up the tinker list means it's theory only.
  6. (Self spot) After a long winter of engine out and full rebuild following a cam belt failure I now have a running car again!!! And she does run. 6 months away and you forget how noisy, visceral and damned quick these things can be. Of course, the bout of upgradeitus may have helped there. Many thanks to The 7 Workshop and DVA Power for all the help. Anyone want to blat?
  7. Just pottering about tomorrow. Next Saturday (8th) is booked but nothing on Sunday I believe. Although to complicate mine's now refusing to start too. Suspect #1 is crank position sender but reviewing... So may be busy Sunday 9th Give me a call.
  8. If you want to try with a different battery give me a call
  9. Nope. No matter how I do the man maths i can't have the Bremont AND skiing. And the skiing is booked. And the wife sees skiing as conditional. Hope someone enjoys it as much as I would!
  10. I hear NickRob has been tempted elsewhere so his is going to be/at Sevens and Classics very soon. A little more https://www.lotus7.club/forum/wanted/budget-sv-wanted
  11. I'm waiting for a slot with DVA to do just that and you're welcome to mine but it will be a while. Perhaps Oily has one in his shed(s)?
  12. I love my Toyo 888s but next time around I'll be struggling to justify the price difference over the T1Rs. Chasing/being chased by Ian last summer didn't reveal anything very different apart from in the monsoonal Alps where I was no where near as sure footed! Although that could be drivers (180bhp, SV 15" wheels)
  13. Oooo, tempted by that Bremont but that's next year's holiday budget! And skiing is the motivator from about now to winter.... PoBC Any ideas how to hide that sized hole in one's finances?
  14. I've rummaged and found one. PM your address and I'll put it in the post. If you need more than one this is the sort of thing I bought from http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/231398515554
  15. I think I've got a few - I'll have a look later for you - if not I got a generic equivalent of eBay for pence IIRC
  16. i suggest the phrase here is 'Ouch!' My K has had just under half that already and needs another £3K to get to 200 bhp so it appears that this is just how much it costs. Oilyhands has a heuristic on £/bhp and hopefully will enlighten lest I misquote but taking the common or garden from mass produced, mass consumed, massive reliability engine past the 100 bhp/litre mark appears to be a case of TADTS without forced induction. If the consensus is £6K for each option if you keep the Sigma doing it in steps will help the man maths ease through the Authority gates whereas D sounds like a big gulp/step. (If you're married to me - the above spend is wine induced bragging and no intention is implied on the rest of it)
  17. Probably best. A stack of tyres wouldn't have scored highly here.
  18. Same as Revilla here but mine's at least 5 years old.
  19. It's been like that for a while! Following Ben was best done at a distance - although to be fair Ben often helped that by taking off like a scalded cat.
  20. Kay's Fasteners on eBay are my first choice. Not been let down yet on stock or delivery. (Although the imperial and metric mix of a 2003 car drives me to multiple orders far too often!)
  21. How about borrowing one? Mine sits in the garage for 50 weeks a year so could do with getting out more.
