  1. Having just learnt what a 18K4G/Kavachi is via google. I'd suggest Autotrader for something that used that engine but that leaves you the problem and expense of a car you don't want. Or maybe an MG dealer would sell you a crated engine?
  2. When I replaced mine a new gasket was required. Only gasket paper though so you could diy.
  3. But your car is black? Going for a change? It appears to depend on the bike model http://www.tapeworks.com/KAWASAKI%20Pages/KAWASAKIColorReference.html
  4. But this does beg the question: Where are you planning to go?
  5. With nothing but the anecdotal to offer: I had a VVC160 that was well used (45,000 miles) before me that I then ran on comma fully synthetic 5W50 for a few years and close on 10,000 miles. By that time there was too much play for DVA to be comfortable with it and it sounded like a mouse was in there with a .50 calibre machine gun under load. No idea what oil it ran on before my tenure. Whether it was miles or oils that did for the wear but wear it did. Now DVA VVC free.
  6. I'm on an iPhone exclusively for here so it sounds like it's cookie related and similar to #4 / Carrotlander's experience. Something I'll continue to live with then rather than try to configure cookie retention policies. Thanks all.
  7. Is it another 'feature' of the new site or something that's configurable? If the latter please up to the maximum - it's a (small) irritation that appears needless.
  8. How's the cover Salty Hair? Hope the garage hasn't given up on you.
  9. I'll have another look then. IIRC there was an article in Lowflying.
  10. @SM25T You've suggested that every time I have a moan about replacing the sender but I'm not happy with the idea of hot pressurised oil under the dash. A lap full of it would put me off my cornering! POBC Am I being overly conservative? Has a mechanical pressure gauge set up failed in the way I fear?
  11. Oil and filter change, oil pressure sender change (for the nth time) general check over of hoses, cables and fixings and then fit Dave Gemzoe's LED bulbs. Probably with a bit of before and after videoing to see true difference. And then a lot more driving!
  12. Best of luck from me too and I echo Wrightpayne's request to let us know how you are getting on and where you'll be. Sounds like a great excuse for a blat to me!
  13. A quick google found this for coolant temp. HTH. https://www.mg-rover.org/threads/testing-vehicle-sensors-a-guide.161245/ no link cos on an iOS mobile and, well. No new news here.
  14. Will dig out the details of the cover and PM you.
  15. I've got one that the shower cap has largely replaced. Where are you based?
  16. MrP. A man of your experience should know not to enter negotiations making it quite so obvious that you're desperate to buy! That said, hope they can!
  17. Not running them now but did for a few years - my experience echoes Nickh7's. In very heavy rain or standing water they will aquaplane - but it's a 650kg car!
  18. Doesn't that prove the point that this little used cul-de-sac is extraneous?
  19. What happened to last night's thread? if Belgian Breweries in July is still on the list I'm interested.
  20. Well seeing as I have a tradition to uphold. Talk to Simon then buy his Nitrons. The single biggest improvement I’ve made (commissioned). Not cheap, but cheap compared to the alternatives and transformative.
  21. I’m in Milton Keynes so if you’re heading to Silverstone (or further west) let me know.
  22. Whereabouts are you based? i have an aero screen and you’re welcome to try it if it’s an idea you want to test rather than a committed desire to buy. (It’s not for sale though)
  23. Paul. Your inbox is full. Can you have a clear out please?
