    IME the immobiliser alone would drain a banner battery below starting capacity in 3 weeks so you’re not looking for a huge draw.

    It’s gets rather dull with the 4,000 rpm drone of the 6- speed for me. Off the autoroute it takes days.

    Another unhelpfully vague shout from the crowd is 'dodgy earth!' Is there corrosion/paint/oil/anything on the earth connection? Both ends at battery and chassis?

    On the assumption that the CSR wiring is the same as the SV et al the wiring diagram will show that the power travels through the hazards switch. Which is prone to poor contacts with age, rain and lack of use. A very good squirt of contact cleaner top and bottom and many switch activations (on, off, on, off, on, off, repeat to twenty cycles) clears it for me. If that doesn't work, repeat until bored then pry the switch out and apply emery paper (or equivalent) to prongs, reinstall and try again. This is part of hibernation waking routine here.

    @wrightpayne. Yes driven twice and all fine. 40 miles ish that morning. Plugs all looked the same on the way out (ie the old ones) and after running with hiccup no apparent difference to the new ones. @TomB. Not obviously but was losing patience so tidied up and walked away. Will check later unless Oily pops up and can tell me what he does as part of the upgrade.

    1.8 K series that was VVC before receiving the K06 treatment from @Oilyhands. (Removal of VVC mechanism, hotter cams, throttle bodies and ECU) Taken out of hibernation two weekends ago, started first time, idled fine, been out twice for gentle blats to reacquaint and all good. Changed the spark plugs, oil & filter and general spanner check pre MOT and now have a hiccup at idle. Starting was difficult after service but with a bit of throttle got going with a cough and splutter, revs at idle fluctuated until settling back to idle normally but with a hiccup. New plugs are NGK BCP7ES Nothing else deliberately touched. TPS reset tried to no effect. Hiccup interval ranges from 4 to 20+ seconds. Seeking advice before I attempt to drive in case I do more harm. Any good ideas anyone?

    Whereabouts are you based Acer? Mine's not for sale as when I want it it's great but it's also not in use for the majority of the time. As such if someone else wanted to give it an airing I'm sure we could come to an arrangement.

    It is but it's also probably due a hazchem warning due to the number of cases of upgradeitus caused. IME recognising this early, setting up a saving plan and getting in the queue would be prudent.

    There is/was an air box that DVA Power supplied but it is intended for DTH throttle bodies rather than a single plenum but it may give you some ideas. DVA scroll down

    Is the noise noticeably different top or bottom, left to right of the engine? Could it be a cam seal giving up? Just thinking of things that spin up with revs. Or engine side of the clutch?
