  1. 2GBR - you didn't send your email address on the BM
  2. White with fancy blue decals GN12 HTV I think. Saw you on the bridge, as you turned around Is it a K-Series car? Edited by - c7trp on 21 Jul 2013 20:34:46
  3. I've had a similar problem a couple of years ago. In the end I fixed it by getting an o-ring of the same internal diameter but with a slightly thicker (larger diameter) rubber bit. This makes the overall diameter slightly larger and this improved the seal on mine. I took the original o-ring to local bearing/engineers supply place and they helped measure and select a replacement. Cost was about 10p I think! I *might* have the size I used if that helps Be careful fitting the housing into the water pump, as the o-ring may want to roll out of its grove. I used silicone lube and it went in OK. You have checked the hole in the water pump is clean, circular, not scuffed, scratched or damaged?
  4. Found it - I didn't realise my filing system was so efficient BM me your email addy and I'll send you a copy Edited by - c7trp on 21 Jul 2013 08:22:43
  5. I wrote the article. I have a pdf copy somewhere on my pc. I will dig it out for you. Edited to say, it covers the later GKN shafts not the earlier Ford derived ones. Like these ones The Ford ones have smooth tin covers adjacent to the boot rather than a fluted casting. Edited by - c7trp on 21 Jul 2013 07:57:26
  6. Bung a standard stat in and do the t piece mod we talked about. Cheap and simples
  7. My 1.8 EU3 has blue injectors and was running the 1.6 map before Z and F re-mapped it.
  8. Yours Paul! Want the drawers to? I'll throw them in for nowt 😬 I need to get a bonnet to you also
  9. I have some good quality, old kitchen cupboards that would make excellent garage storage. In white - 3no wall cupboards 1no draw base unit and 4 drawers All in good nick. Free to anyone that wants them. Otherwise to the skip next weekend. North lancs / south Cumbria for collection, not really feasible to post!
  10. Dave Try a 5mm Allen key. Sure it will fit. Go on you know you want to.... The one we looked at on Paul's car was the same as yours.
  11. My '03 De-dion was 1/4 UNF yesterday when I put a new nyloc on...
  12. Hi Nigel If I remember rightly there is a hole and rubber grommet in the bottom chassis tube adjacent to the right hand (when viewed from behind) wheel carrier tube. If you follow the cables from the side of the fuel tank / fuel pump you should be able to follow the loom to the spot :)
  13. Quoting 7 wonders of the world: Send it to Steve at SPC you will get a top job If you get him to answer the phone/emails. Gave up with him after 2 months 😔
  14. Paul, I can sort cheap carriage for you if that helps Edited to say, I do know of a man in Darwen, I can get his details tonight Edited by - c7trp on 8 Feb 2013 15:58:21
  15. Heading towards Ingleton. Gave you a flash 😬
  16. On my 2003 car they are M5x20 black pan head machine screws.
  17. Following my recent rebuild I have a bonnet and scuttle shell littering the garage. They are both, erm, used. With various dints and dings, nothing dramatic, just showing the signs of 65,000 miles of blatting. Bonnet still has the catch hooks in place, and I can probably find the rest of the bonnet catches if they are needed. The scuttle shell has holes for the windscreen stanchions, wipers and a smaller hole behind the screen line for a shift light cable. Colour is "Ferrari Titanium Silver - Argento Titano" (FER 3238) but to be honest would probably need a respray. Photo's available. If anyone wants them, make me an offer - I've no idea what they are worth - if anything, otherwise I will push them onto ebay. Collection from North Lancashire or GONADS?
  18. When I rebuilt my calipers I did as you described and had no problems getting them to seal (or to fit the boots 😬 ) I'm guessing you've checked the bore for wear and scoring, so unless the seal has been dislodged during assembly, it may be time to compare the diameter of the new pistons with the old one. Edit to say, it may be worth removing the boot, seal and check the fit / rotation of the piston in the bore. IIRC it was a close fit without the seals in place Edited by - c7trp on 21 Jul 2012 19:34:52

Good day out, course record oh-so nearly broken
  20. I got one from a Mini specialist near me I think it is like this one
  21. 6pm ish Thursday. Car sounding good as you negotiated the traffic Followed you for a few miles down the M61 and M60
  22. I don't know if these help? and I did it roughly as richard says, but used a file as I dont have a nibbler. The primary's move a lot as you tighten them on to the engine so you need to enlarge the holes umpteen times... Oh, and plenty of swearing helps
  23. I've used these with success in the past. Tapered hand reamer Start with a small, say 6mm, hole and enlarge with this. Easy in the alloy dash
  24. I think it would be easy enough, *but* on mine the bolts were mega tight, and you need a really good quality torx bit that fits nicely as the bolt heads are quite shallow. I ended up using a breaker bar on some. My cr@ppy torx bit mullered a couple of the heads, so I had to weld nuts on to get them off 😔 Chatting with Phil at R&R he recommended a good torx bit and an air gun and apply plenty of pressure to the bit to keep it in the bolt head.
