  1. Seem to have somehow 'burst' one of the rear shocker on my 1.8 road sport. 😳 The car has done 40k miles, and there is some play in the wheel bearings also. Is it time for a full overhaul of the rear suspension? Whilst its all in bits, should I change the bushes or any other bits? Front suspension and bearings seem ok, although the rubber gaiters on the top ball joints are getting worn/split. Should I take the front to bits too? Cheers
  2. Which haynes manual do I need for my 03 1.8 Roadsport engine - I want to do my own servicing Cheers
  3. Found it! Broken pin in the multi-connector that links the main loom to the front lamp and indicator assy. When the hail stones stop, I'll fit a spade connector... Thanks for all your help.
  4. Thanks all, I'll dash out between showers and see what I can find. Some trepidation taking my 7 apart for the first time, I've only had it a week! Cheers
  5. Cheers Lads, Currently hailstoning and a few too many glasses of red. 😬 Will look in morning. Thanks for help
  6. Different fuse per lamp? Not sure bimbete in halfrauds had suitable alen key for full lech 😬
  7. I've only had my 7 a week, so excuse the numpty questions! Front head lamps - only the near side one works on main beam. Been to Halfrauds and purchased new bulb (declined the dolly birds offer for her to fit it for me for 2.99 ) Still no main beam. Swapped bulb for near side, same problem. Wiring prob me thinks I haven't had chance for a proper look at the wiring, but does anyone know if each lamp is wired separately back to the switch, or does the switch wire 'split' somewhere to go to each lamp? I'm expecting a loose wire somewhere. Cheers Edited by - tim pollard on 17 Nov 2006 20:39:48
  8. I've just got my first 7. Its done 40k miles and been properly serviced every 6000 miles. its a 1.8 K-Series. Can I service this myself? - I've serviced and worked on Rover V8's and other pre-ecu engines in the past. From my Caterham owners manual, I can't see how often the timing belt should be changed. As the car is only going to do a few thousand miles per year, I suppose the service interval will be more time related than mileage. Can anyone give me any pointers? Cheers

    O/T Leather Seats

Cheers. More hard earned to Halfrauds
  10. Any advice on looking after leather seats? Have an Audi A4 with leather seats and want to keep them in good nick as I'll be keeping this car some time while I save for my first 7 Cheers
  11. I type this on a Dell Inspiron 9300 with 17" Truelife panel, 1Gb RAM and Centrino processor. Its about a year old, but works a treat. Its my third Dell, and I use it every day. In my day job I buy a lot of Dell and find them to be a good blend of spec, price and after sales support. Definately go for the 3 year 'Gold' warranty, as the wires on the power supplies get b*ggered after about 18 months of constant packing and unpacking. Also the battery on most laptops only last a couple of years... Watch Dell's hidden charges - they can charge upto £50 for delivery Keep an eye out for special offers in the press...
  12. Cheers Phil Think your right - its certainly not straight forward (or obvious). Another 25 quid to hier Audi Tim
  13. Silly question, but does anyone know how to change the headlight bulb on an 02 Audi a4 (new shape)? It looks like you need to take the whole assy out to get enough clearance to undo the back of the lamp holder? It all kinda just looks too difficult for a simple job 😬 The manual says take it to the dealer! (and get charged £50 I bet ) Cheers
  14. My first post so be nice 😬 Had a couple of A4's, Petrol and Diesel and a Golf tractor. The dealer insists on replacing the water pump at the c80k miles major service on all of them. Costly ☹️ Maybe they are aware of a problem?
