Assuming you mean the Ford calliper - its a bit of a faf to get on but I did mine on the bench. So a bit of a faf on the bench may translate into a 'mare on the car? IIRC wind the piston out about 20mm slide the seal past the groove in the piston. This gives a bit more slack in the rubber to push the outer edge into the groove on the calliper. Then wind the piston in to locate the inner edge in the piston groove I think I then wound it in and out a couple of times to fully seat the outer edge in the calliper. This may a *lot* easier with the calliper removed, it may be quicker to bleed the brakes than struggle getting the seal on...?

Part numbers of items I used: CVF7-4 1 way flap valve -4JIC (1 No.) HETF7-4-3 -4JIC FML Straight for -3TFE (2 No.) The document number on my bill is SI303105 / OR267524 (6/5/2010) Matt is the best contact. I've just done it and it works a treat No more rattly tappets when it fires up Speak to Matt (?) at Think - he knows the bits you need to splice it into the existing braided hose. Easy to do... Not 7 related... A guy in the office has bought some poly bushes for a VW Bora for £10 on ebay. Link to similar Looking at them the casting quality is quite poor, but more of a concern, the metal bush running down the centre appears to be aluminium. The metal centre has a rough hole drilled in it for the mounting bolt. (i.e. drilled with a blunt drill, and never been near a reamer!) It seems to me that the bolts bearing surface should be something a bit harder than aluminium. Anyone any experience of these bushes?

Yup - this was myself and Martin W (the burgundy one) and Peter in his classic Merc SL in hot pursuit Had a good run over the Trough - Glasson Dock - Scorton - Chipping - Whitewell, finishing with a swift one at the Parkers Arms in Newton. Busy today

Free to good home! Baromix Minor Mixer and stand in good condition .... EXCEPT The motor is dead. Needs a 1/2hp 1500 rpm (4 pole?) motor to make it a goodun. Suitable motor about £60 from Machine Mart I'm told. Old motor is beyond repair. I've used it twice in 10 years, and could do with the space....

I've just come in from the garage having replaced the solenoid (low current) cable as it had melted down to bare copper 😳 Made the new cable a little longer and routed it down, below the starter, keeping the cable as far away from the exhaust as possible. Also used this to try and shield the cable a bit.

I think Hammerite will be OK assuming it has fully cured... Nicked from the datasheet: "It is based on synthetic resins, fast drying solvents and when fully cured resists all common building materials and splashing by dilute acids/alkalis, petrol and diesel." Could be wrong, but its been OK for me in the past Expect biggest problem will be chipping from the petrol pump nozzle.

Hi Steve, I've just done this on an 03 car, and to get the cap to fit properly I had to remove the "internal flange" from the filler neck...the bit that located the metro style filler cap. Otherwise, when you fit it all together, not only does the pin foul, but you can't get cap in either ☹️ Removed by chain drilling and filing, but if you've got a dremmel or die grinder it would be easier Oh, BTW the larger cut out in the outer ring goes at the top to give room for the filler nozzle.....

yes- just undo the 3 screws in each stanchion and lift off - disconnecting the heated screen cables if you have them

Does anyone know the size of the O Ring that seals the thermosat housing into the water pump on a Rover K-Series? Would like to get a new one before I drain it and strip take it apart! Thanks
