  1. Have you considered that the reading is correct and the thermostat is stuck open? Has it just started doing this? Now the ambient temps are lower the K engine will not get up to normal temperatures easily if the stat is open or missing.
  2. 'Also he described the gold pump having 'marginal' scavenge capacity, hence should have a regular refresh .' Not convinced about the above quote as the Gold pump would pull all the oil from the sump and regularly gurgle as it sucked air. It also had the capacity to stop oil from draining from a cracked sump, on turning off the engine after a 60 mile drive oil poured from the crack. The Purple pump however may be 'marginal' hence the introduction of the Gold one.
  3. Please have a look here. https://www.lotus7.club/forum/sale/spring-sale-wings-hood-catalytic-coverter-plus-lots-more-have-look The wings may suit your needs.
  4. I can email a spread.sheet that is simple to input any variables in to. Blatmail me with an email address and I will send it to you.
  5. Hi Blue, does this ring take the live feed to the horn? If so where is the earth return feed? Had a 'no horn' issue on a csr his weekend and the only 'cure' was to earth the steering column with a new separate wire. All additional knowledge would be happily received.
  6. You can see the 'chamfer' in your picture, it is the rubber part that is a different shape on each side.
  7. Do your doors have the 'elbow' slots in the lower half (later style) of the door or are they totally flat (earlier type)? I have a good hood from a 1998 SLR available if you get stuck.
  8. I have a number of used hoses for the k series SLR. I have looked at them to day and they appear in useable condition. I would have no issues reusing them. They are the early 'good quality' ones. All yours foc collection Filey.
  9. Hi H, I sympathies with you over this and offer my suggestion. It sounds like the spark is igniting fuel but not at the right point in the engines cycle. Treble check that all the plug leads are in the right order and then check that at the point of fire (when the rotor arm is opposite the lead) that that piston is in the correct point of it's cycle to accept the spark. Another suggestion is to slowly rotate the distributor to see if things change. Good luck.
  10. This fits Series 3 Sevens and was in use on my SLR for several years. It is in good condition with no rips or tares and comes complete with bag and unused fastening string. The Cover Systems covers are the silver coloured ones that work. £50 plus post and packing or can bring to the 60th celebrations. SOLD

    VHPD Club Sport

VHPD Club Sport does not ring a bell with me either as being an offical Caterham Model. Sorry, I think we need a bit more info as to exactly what you are after.
  12. That is not fit for purpose, I would replace it sooner rather than later.
  13. Check that the steering column is not touching or too close to the engine at the lower end. Have you tried holding the lower shaft to see if you can alter the sound.
  14. Get an assistant to hold the brake pedal down and see if the movement is eradicated. If it goes then wheel bearing most likely. If not check all suspension bolts are tight and check the wishbone joints for movement.
  15. The spare wheel is very useful if you get rear ended. It helps to spread the load around the rear chassis members and possibly helps to protect the petrol tank.
  16. Check the 'bobbin' is in good condition so it takes some of the weight without flexing. I always had to be brutal with the torque to stop mine drooping.
  17. https://www.amazon.co.uk/TWIN-COMPRESSOR-HORNS-DUAL-TRUCK/dp/B0025B728U/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1493401180&sr=8-15&keywords=air+horns I purchased the above not expecting much but they are very good for the money.
  18. Have you connected the lower part to the rack? If you have try loosening the rack and rotating to change the angle. Or disconnect the lower part from the rack and connect the two parts first then adjust the rack to the natural line.

    S3 hood, tidy

I have the hood from my 1998 SLR available. https://www.lotus7.club/forum/sale/spring-sale-wings-hood-catalytic-coverter-plus-lots-more-have-look Let me know if you need more info.
  20. I think John V is on the best track to potentially resolve this quickly and easily, those numbers are important.
  21. The most important thing with our SLR was to get the whole thing hot and I mean seriously hot. A good thrashing and straight on the analyser always sorted ours out.
  22. My car (SLR) had no boot and the two threads were used to hold a small plate that effectively made an adjustable back stop. All from memory so please check that this is fact.
  23. If it is so bad the only answer that seems logical is that the master cylinder is letting fluid past the main seal but the fluid is being retained by the secondary seal so no leak is showing. I would be stripping the master cylinder if it were mine, if that proves a red herring then a small fire may fix the issue!
  24. I think you need to run the car and bed the brakes in and then do another bleed to be sure that the problem is air or indeed the master cylinder. If you have done as John has shown above then my suggestion seems the next logical step. Both 7s I have built had 'squidgy' pedals till the whole system had had some use (abuse).
