  1. Hi Mark. Did you get blatmail on Monday with model number? Any use?
  2. Bought last year and never used. Its a twin arm bracket for mounting flat panel TV up to 55" (but we intended to go larger) with a weight capacity of 65kgs! it is for VESA fittings 100x100 to 400x400 and usual combinations in between. Only fitted to back to TV as a trial but changed mind on location and decided to use our old, fixed wall mount instead so this hasn't been bolted to the wall. I think it cost me around £55-60 plus carriage. As new with all fittings and original packaging. £35 plus postage.
  3. There's a thread on Pistonheads at the moment showing possible hub damage from such a situation
  4. You will need to remove at least one seat so you can lift the tunnel cover and then remove the gearstick (3 bolts). You will also have to allow the handbrake to be released to lift the tunnel cover which is done by reaching above the diff on the passenger side and then winding the two white plastic nuts back to allow the handbrake cable to go slack. Gearbox can come out on a trolley jack under the front and undo the large bolt that passes through the gearbox mounting. Lift the tail so that it clears the mounting and push the box forward on the jack. Keep it level unless you drain the oil first as Smithy suggests.
  5. Similar to Guf1, our Autocom was velcro'd inside boot on rear bulkhead with leads coming under front edge of boot cover. I did a more permanent job on one of the earlier cars and drilled holes in rear bulkhead to feed the cables to hang right behind seats unless needed

    CSR wheels

Same PCD as any de dion car (108mm) and the offset on rears is ET30 (non CSR is ET24). Not sure on front offset though for CSR rims. CSR wheels do fit on an S3 but not sure if they require a small spacer
  7. We had considered the Dusseldorf-Innsbruck motorail for our sevens a few years ago when we last went to do the Stelvio trip but were put off by 1) clearance required to get across the ramp on/off the train, 2) someone else having to load our cars for us and 3) open carriages and possible risk of damage/theft en-route. So we had a road trip and drove down which was fine but a bit of a 2 day slog. Speaking to Caterham friends subsequently who have used the same motorail for this route, none of them had any problems at all and had a very enjoyable (overnight) trip after dinner in Dusseldorf. Obviously not a full endorsement but I think we will be happy to book on to the train when we head that way again. Thanks Nick
  8. Thanks Tom for the suggestion but I dropped into Seven's and Classics and Tim/Callum sorted one out for me
  9. Bit of a strange request but does anyone have a removeable engine diagonal spare - the longer one that goes over the exhaust on a 1997 S3 car (passenger side). TIA Nick
  10. Hi, anyone after a small runabout or a car for a new driver? I bought my mum a Citroen C1 which is a great little car but she's decided that it isn't for her. Its a 5 door fairly basic model (aren't they all!) in black with high miles (114k) but it runs very well, looks good and is a 59 plate car. Surprisingly spacious too, my nephew has one and is 6'5" and drives his fine and this is the 5 door model so no struggling into the rear seats as happens with the 3 door model. £20 tax , low insurance group and very cheap fuel costs. Mot until late August 2017. It has its two keys. I'll sell it to a blatchatter for what I paid (£1200) so its no offers but it might be very suitable for anyone with a new driver to get sorted. Cheers Nick
  11. There are 13 x 9 too but with ET30 offset for CSR's but have been fitted to S3's as well
  12. Hi Clive, sorry you have missed the trailer. It was sold this lunchtime to a man with two Model T Fords of all things to transport round. Thanks Nick BTW This Newcastle is close to Stoke on Trent

  14. Lower centre of gravity in car as the driver is about 2" lower in car. This can improve the driver comfort too as the taller drivers tend to look through the top of the screen/doors if you have weathergear on and you have to crane or crouch to avoid visibility problems. I have had lowered floors retro fitted to my cars and its well worth the investment. Trish has standard floors on her SLR and finds driving my cars difficult as she can't see over the bonnet! Maybe try before you buy.... Oh not sure about the reduced clearance over driveways as they aren't the lowest part of the car. I think its still the clearance under the gearbox
  15. Otherwise if you need to replace the heater matrix, its a simple job and a new matrix is available from ebay : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caterham-7-heater-matrix-Kit-car-SUPERIOR-metal-version-NEW-Made-in-the-UK-/291924350470?hash=item43f80c1606:g:ck8AAOxyNmZTkX7M
  16. Sorry Chris - posted bit too quick! I'm after a 3m kite
  17. I have one that I bought specifically for keeping with the Seven or Elise. Mine is slightly more powerful (29000mAh from memory) but has the same 400 amps peak output. It says it can start 10 flat vehicles on a single charge. I've never got to 10 but have certainly done 5 or 6 without recharging the unit and one of these was my 2.3l diesel motorhome that had been standing for the winter and the other was the Elise that was completely flat. Having a light and portable USB charger is also very useful and I carry it when we go touring in the caterhams so i can charge my phone/ipad in the tent etc.. Mine was a £50 at the Classic car show a couple of years ago and has been well worth the investment. This ebay one looks superb value.
  18. I collect my very first car in 1988 and hired a van, checked it would fit with the rental company and wandered the 225 miles down to Dartford. It was then that I found that the chassis would fit in the back of the van but only on the diagonal... Plenty of careful packing got it sorted but it was a very gentle drive home :) Take plenty of cushions to pack it and be careful using ratchet straps as they can easily over do things if you tension them too much
  19. Thanks all for replies T7 - YHM
  20. Hi, Does anyone have an old push bike they no longer use and is suitable for a 6' student? Preferably a road bike or at least a MTB on road tyres and in good working condition. Needn't be too pretty as he's going to using it around Liverpool to get to uni and work but must be cheap! Budget is only around £25-30 which isn't much but if its clogging up your shed, it could do him a favour. Thanks Nick
  21. Hi Danny, I'll have them if they are still available. Thanks Nick
  22. Heading along the A51 towards Chester this afternoon. Bit too much traffic but hope you had a decent blat.
