Also the reason why some cars misfire if this happens to be the engine mount with the earth strap. It took a visit to two Steves and a call to Mick (Attree) to diagnose this mystery misfire with my Sigma - its surprisingly common.

If you have removed the trim at the bottom of the screen, you should be left with the U shaped surround around the rest of the screen and its rubber seal. Its simply pushed into place and came off my screen with very little effort. There may be a few wooden dowels in there too that act as spacers when the screen is back in its surround HTH Nick

Have you tried a set of the carbon kevlar tillets if you have the black GRP ones in your car. They look very similar but I find the carbon ones much better for overall comfort

How to spend a lot of money on a 120bhp K series engine

Very easy to remove and replace the glass. There are a couple of screws that hold the bottom channel to the top U shape. With the bottom piece removed, the main frame simply pulls off the screen with its rubber surround. There are some wooden dowels dotted around the channel but these drop in and are left free to slide around as they act as spacers. Re-fitting is a the reverse.

Hi Chris, how tidy do they have to be? I have a pair in the garage rafters that came out of long stored car but had a bit of mouse damage... Holes have been taped up and mainly sit under harnesses so not massively obvious. If of interest I'll get you some photos. They are complete with headrests and may even have their runners but can't quite remember cheers Nick ps really glad to see you are rebuilding the car after such a bad accident. Hope Maggie is getting better
