    Internal Panels

I might well do the same but I thought it best to get a price for replacements as if they are cheap enough I will just buy a few. Guess I'd better get on the phone to CC again then.

    Internal Panels

Just called Arch, apparently they don't make the interior panels.
  5. As I have made myself a bag seat and no longer need this I have removed it from my car. If anyone is interested I'm looking to get what I paid for it, it's in the same condition as above and has been a really good seat. I'm in Teesside so collection would be from there but I could investigate postage costs if required. Cheers Steve
  6. A few of my internal panels (the ones below the doors) are a bit scuffed and scratched and I'm thinking about replacing them. Does anyone know how much these cost? They are not available on the Caterham parts website as I guess they are a special order item. I spoke to someone at CC a while back and was told they would get back to me with prices which never happened. Was just wondering if its worth buying new ones or If I should just get them powder coated again.

    Sprint success

It's always difficult do judge someone elses driving without actually being in the car so I would suggest you invest in some proper training. Someone like Anthony Dunn, Ben Cluclas or the likes will help you massively. It's not cheap but well worth every penny. As a quick observation, you should not be moving your hands around on the wheel whilst cornering. As soon as you let go with one hand you reduce the amount of control and connection you have with the car. Caterhams have a relatively small steering lock too so there should be no need. In the words of someone much more talented than me, "do less".
  8. Tyre received in good order, many thanks.
  9. I'll have the CR500. Can you get me a price for postage to the north please.
  10. If I remember correctly it is something to do with sidewall deflection. When a tyre is suited to a rim the side wall will be almost vertical meaning lateral load will allow the tyre to shift around and keep the tread blocks in contact with the road more consistently (therefore maintaining temperature). When the side walls are bent in or out there is more tension on them reducing the amount of give. This can have the effect of lifting the tread blocks away from the road so the wider tyre won't necessarily mean more grip. Plus you will have to find some nice tyre fitters because it is much harder to fit them and some might not have the patience or tools required.
  11. I recon I'm going through a set every three trackdays which is about every 6 weeks at the moment. I am doing 30 minute stints at a time though. Wondering if the increased heat is causing premature wear. I might try some 1155's but it's finding something to use on the rear that will also last.
  12. I'm doing quite a few track days lately and I'm burning through pads at a fairly decent rate. My car is as per 2014 Avon Supersport Regs so has Mintex 1144 pads on the front and Ferodo DS2500 on the rear. As I'm not racing it this year I'd like to switch to a longer lasting pad. I don't want it to stop any faster as what I have on now is great and I don't want to start relying on the extra stopping power as when I go racing I will go back to regulation pads. Thanks.
  13. Mintex 1144s definately need a bit of temp before they work well. They do work from cold but with decently reduced performance.
